Am I a bad person for laughing when I read the above-quoted post? I ask because the same type of question, "Can anything good come out of San Francisco or Portland," was also asked about Nazareth. Perhaps it's just that my sense of humor has a dark side.

Please understand that if I were to find myself in San Francisco or Portland, it would be due to an REM nightmare because that's the only reason I'd populate either city.

Nevertheless, It's wise to judge a tree by the fruit it produces, not the soil in which it's planted. Because, sometimes, people, like trees, are not capable of transplantation.
 
There's a town in Conneticut where they planted a bunch of maple trees to lessen pollution. Apparently some species clean up the air very well. Yet the one they planted heavily was not. Pollution got worse. Turns out the maple trees were polluting the air too. 😱

Of course I can't find the story on the interweb anymore. Nope, it's those dastardly neighboring states causing the pollution in Conneticut these days.
 
There is nothing wrong with EV, in some cases they offer many advantages, but they are not without their limits. if i lived in a house, i would love to get an EV, i travel less than 70 miles a day, so it would work just fine for me, but i would not get rid of my gas suv, on weekends i do 500+ miles with large suv packed with things, and people.

These EV activists do more harm to Ev than good. Any good idea will look stupid if taken to absurdity. which is what they are doing,
 
As a resident of a Midwestern State, I could have said "told you so" when they bought the damn things. Only thing that will come out of this is that Tesla will offer a "cold weather package" for an extra ten large or something that keeps the batteries warm or at least room temp.

Lithium ions are not for extreme cold weather and that's why I use CR123A's and AA lithiums in my emergency lights.

Didn’t know that have to check it out. Can’t wait to a ecar is made with a motor in each wheeel hub! Can you imagine the traction control they can achieve?

Yup. Dictatorial. Fascist, if you will. Product choices by force, combined with effective shaming and vilifying until people get backed into the corner as "the bad guys."

I'm all for technology improvements if they ultimately prove to be the better "mousetrap." Undoubtedly, though, as with nearly every other thing made, it won't prove to be the best choice for every situation/factor. Which is why choice is so vital. If eventually the weak points (of the vehicles and the system of extraction/build and 'fuel' delivery) get great improved, then so be it.
 
Look, I don't have any issues with electric cars. I do take issue with somebody not stopping to charge it. Today was the second time I was stuck in a backup several miles long because a dam EV had run out of battery. I'm never surprised to be stuck because a car ran out of gas mind you. Not saying I prefer that either.
