Hey Monocrom! Thank you. I think they created an even better looking version than the original. Sucked me right in.

The NH35 in this Explorer version was running about -10 SPD, so I decided to tweak it a little on the TimeGrapher. After regulating it, it stayed at +/- 0 SPD for over a week, while on my wrist continuously. Amazing timekeeping for an automatic - by any maker. I usually swap out what watch I'm wearing every day or two, except the newly arrived watches stay on the wrist for a week or so to see how they're running. I need to put a halt on watch buying!

At present, I'm bursting at the seams in my watch drawer.

DHart. Wow! That's some collection. As a matter of interest, do you have a theme or do you just buy what looks nice? Did you sell a kidney or something?

Hello Toulouse42... thank you. I do have a few watches. Sort of gravitated into having a small collection, as happens for me with flashlights, knives, firearms, fountain pens, etc.

I appreciate and buy value watches, rather than luxury pieces. I really enjoy the variety in having multiple watches. I keep it under $1000, mostly under $500, as I've found that one can enjoy truly excellent and stunningly beautiful timepieces without spending stupid money. I don't see any value in spending thousands on any single watch. I've found that this philosophy applies to the various other items/hobbies that I enjoy. You can do exceptionally well with value-priced, quality-made items.

I wear watches 24/7, often switching one out for another on a daily basis. Even though I have clocks all around, I wear watches in part to check the time, but perhaps even more simply because I enjoy looking at whatever watch I am wearing! Being retired, few others ever see my watches - I wear them purely for my own enjoyment. I buy them for their looks (and readability at a glance) and for their time keeping performance. As needed, I occasionally tweak (regulate) an automatic watch with a Time Grapher, as I like them to run within a few seconds per day in accuracy. That's about it.

Thanks for that. I'm retired too and agree with what you say although I only have a few watches. I'm generally quite good at resisting the urge to buy. That and a limited budget!

I liked your Pagani so much that I just ordered their Milgauss homage. Compared to the real thing, the value is excellent.

May I ask what is a Time Grapher and how does one use it? I have an Omega Seamaster that is losing several seconds a day (about 3 minutes per month) that I'd like to tweak if possible. (Actually I just found an article online about this - no need to reply)

Let me refer you to WatchUSeek.com and search Youtube for TimeGrapher videos to regulate a watch.

I was hesitant at first to order a Pagani, but with three of them now... I have no hesitation whatsoever in buying Pagani watches in the future! Excellent quality and quite an exceptional value.

OMG(oodness), Byk! You could be 'in a rut'. You might want to call your doctor! Kidding aside, a Seiko is a great 'rut' to be in IMO;-) If Seiko still made watches like the ones I used to wear, there would be a new one on my arm instead of the Casio that's there now! (I'm aware they're available used, but now that they're 'rare', I can't 'afford'(justify) them:-(

That's OK. I bought a new Casio (~$30) a while back and thought I'd sync it the other day. When I saw it was still within a few seconds, I didn't even bother. It's not Seiko build quality, but it'll do for an old man. If I cared what anyone else thought (which I don't) it wouldn't bother me anyway, as for several reasons, I much prefer to wear mine on the inside, not the outside of my wrist (since childhood), so no one would ever notice what I'm wearing anyway:-)
 
Nothing wrong with a Casio @aznsx. I just don't dig on digital watches hooked up the the gubment tracker(s). lol. They already follow my iPhone and my automobile. 🥴

The blue dial Seiko is like one I had as a lad so when it arrived (and fit) it became an instant favorite. I wore a blue dial kinetic type for years that saw tons of action. I wore that one twisted to the inside like you do your Casio so the glass crystal got really beat up. It's retired now.

I also have a nice Seiko 5 blue dial but it's a more modern version that lacks some of the character of the 1975 LordMatic.

Today (actually yesterday since it's now after midnight) I did wear a '73 LordMatic for a while.

Chocolate brown dial on the 7151 case is a little more square instead of being a circle. The quick adjust does not work, which is typical for the 5606 movement. An easy fix for a watchmaker with a $49 aftermarket part.

The bracelet on the 5 was too small, by a lot. The 19mm end links fit the 20mm kinetic bracelet and so it is.

I may restore the kinetic someday.

Agreed. It's not one I'd wear on the construction site or while trimming the hedges.

But it has enough to wear if it were to hit a door knob when leaving a room or that sort of thing it wouldn't cause me to become upset over another scratch like some brand new time piece.
 


I dig this watch more and more every time it's on my arm.
Sure, it takes some design cues from the Pelagos, those big chunky applied blocks of lume as indices, each inset into chapter ring cutouts being the main one. It fixes several other issues, or enhances. Drops the much maligned snowflake hands for swords, thinner, a bit more presence in general, raises the depth capability (550m to 610m, not that I'll ever test that). Granted, not a Swiss movement, but a high quality Miyota 9xxx that is hand regulated for every watch before it leaves (this one is running +2spd).

All in all, it's really a great package.
