There are a lot of quite excellent watches available for as little as around a hundred bucks! And less, too.
Awesome congrats!!! However you feel about today, give it a few weeks and you will love it more. Hard to explain but for me at least it really grew on me. The simple to easy read less is more face/dial is
without needing to know the moons orbit speed and what tide will be out in Timbuktu 
Light isn’t it, if to nit pick would be the carbon fibre strap, some complain can be uncomfortable. Trick is to wear on the looser side if so . A variable on wrist shape, so only a minority effected .

I am a firm believer that this applies to all the rubber/resin/carbonfiber Gshock straps...i go to slightly looser than tourniquet, then back off 1 notch. At rest, it's loose enough for 1-2 fingers, but during physical exertion(due to swelling) it can be moved if pinched and lifted, but wont really shift on its own.
Did you forget to mention its superior accuracy? This is fundamental for a time keeping device. It is very clear why you say it is your best watch. Yet, don’t you have better watches than your best watch? Simple logic suggests that you wouldn’t have them if they were not better in some way.
My point is that a technically superior watch can be the best but not necessarily (or emotionally) better if that makes sense. I am not commenting about your Citizen BM7080-03E (Ti case) being your best watch. Your post made me recall my dilemma before buying my Longines Spirit Titanium. I am now trying to justify my turn around just before pulling the trigger for a Seiko Astron GPS Solar (SSJ025J1). It would definitely be my best watch as well but this Longines feels better in some way. This seems to be a matter of what is best versus what feels better.

Then the GWG 2000 came , nice and more or an MTG mudmaster that’s GWG imo. Bit posh! Carbon fiber bumpers etc.

Thanks! I’m looking forward to the next few weeks (maybe a lifetime) with it. Agree on the easy to read dial; also why I opted for this model over the black out version. Coming from Tunas and an Ecozilla, this is a featherweight. This strap doesn’t bother me too much, I’ve gotten used to trying to wrap the rubber brick of a strap on a Citizen Ecozilla around my wrist. The only odd detail is the strap keeper is too loose, even when on the thicker end/tip of the strap. I’ve been incrementally bending the interior tabs down with non-marring pliers to tighten it.Awesome congrats!!! However you feel about today, give it a few weeks and you will love it more. Citizen EcoDrive perpetual calendar.
This one has been my holiday watch. From eve through today.
I forgot about that’s and it’s not alone with the keeper. Some Gs (not that many but more with the slippier carbon straps) find it easy to slide out of the keeper. Keeping it lower towards the buckle helps, but now and then just a case of sliding it back in (keeper that is
). No watch is perfect although some come close. Im sure soon this will be your grab and go G . So easy no faff of date and time setting, winding, just throw on and done. It’s got to a point with the odd keeper it’s actually subconscious . No doubt there are easy fix and little mods that can be done, but never found it necessary myselfWear in good health
PS-Gs can be very addictive due to so many and so much variety to suit all types of applications . Be warned, once it bites it’s hard to resist future bargains.
Nope! I'm just a watch enthusiast/collector. Plus, took me two decades to realize that it's my best watch. It's like dating women. You date a bunch of different ones, then looking back you realize the best one out of the bunch wasn't the prettiest or the one best in bed. It was the one you could count on, no matter what. Issue is, you don't realize it at the time you're actively dating her. Thankfully with watches, you can go back to your best one without emotional baggage.
If you can afford both, why not? That Longines is just frustrating as I nearly purchased one myself. Issue is, out of all the variations Longines makes, none have the Ti case in the proper size, with the date window. So, if I bought one; I'd have to compromise. Not doing that.

I am absolutely in agreement with you. I've had my Citizen Eco-Drive® Promaster Skyhawk A-T Chronograph Titanium Watch with Black Dial (Model: JY0010-50E) since 2008. It's my daily driver worn at least 5 days a week. It was a gift from my father in law who told me to wear it, not store it away. Still going strong on the original storage device (not sure if it's a battery or a capacitor). Receives its radio signal nightly to adjust to the correct time.
I have a skinny wrist and thought it would be too big for me. Nope, it just feels natural now.

I get many asking and worried about wrist sizes and G shocks(obv as a small G is 50mm) . I always say, no one cares! No one gives 2 dams, only person who cares is you. Get it, wear it and NFG( no f@@ks given)
My Sky Cockpit is the same. I used a o-ring to help keep the strap in place.
Your analogy with dating is spot on. Have a long lasting relation with your Citizen.
As for the Longines Spirit, no; I wouldn’t buy a Seiko Astron as well, regardless of finances. This was a cross road for me between two philosophies. At the last moment, I realized that I don’t have to rationalize my purchase and I just bought the one that resonates with something deep inside me (that the rational choice does not). Ironically, once I decided to go the Longines route, no date and 42 mm were extra bonuses for me.
I adore the technologies like Eco-Drive, Tough Solar, BT, GPS and so on. In fact, I have a G-Shock GA-B2100 to enjoy most of them but somehow, these technologies do not feel easy for me when it comes to a GADA watch.
Not sure you will use it, but you need an honour degree to work the watch . So use the app!!! If need to do anything like set an alarm, the app is the answer to putting years on your life!
