We got 13F now, in nyc, not a single snowflake yet, went to the store today, it was fully stocked, like any other day, what we do have shortage of are snow shovels and brushes scrapers for cars.

I keep both in the trunk of my car. Both collapsible.

Started snowing at 5:27am today.

We got 3-4 inches so far but winds are strong, here in urban jungle, in some places wind blows it all off, and brings it to other places where it is a foot or more, like cars on our parking lot, some covered evenly, others are clean on one side, but covered with thick snow on the other,

Several floors up in my COOP apartment. Woke up at 6pm. Hour earlier than usual.

Nope! The individual who relieved me at 7am never got relieved at 3pm. Nothing I could do. Had to give him a call. He was extremely understanding. Gave my manager a call. He was very understanding too. So, here I am, typing this from home. Such a weird feeling.

Temperatures in the teens all day today, better than yesterday’s single digits.15 at the moment, just got back from a short dog walk, she doesn’t like having to walk in the street. I think we have about 10” of new snow here, 2-6 more forecast by mid day tomorrow.

I will say that I find this slightly concerning. Practically a whole week with low temperatures in the 30s at night. I know this doesn't seem cold to many other places, but it honestly feels much colder here in those temperatures than when I'm in northern areas.

Checked the snow depth on the front porch area that's not covered. By tape measure, it was 6 inches deep. Temps in the single digits, with sub-zero wind chills. Sheltering in place. Got our groceries delivered Thursday instead of waiting to get them on Friday as usual. Good thing we did, as the store had limited deliveries on Friday due to the weather.

Plenty of TP onsite. I try to keep at least 50 rolls on hand. I buy on sale in quantities to get it cheap, so, I tend to keep well stocked. I do the same thing with paper towels and bar soap, too. I'm too old to dig a latrine or make lye soap when SHTF. We stopped newspaper delivery years ago, because the better half couldn't keep up with the reading, but didn't want me to throw out the old ones unread by her. They were piling up, so... unsubscribed. Most retailers have stopped sending out catalogs and I like my TP better than slick magazine or inky newspaper, thank you.

The forecast calls for high temps above freezing later this week, so maybe I can get away without having to hire snow removal. I hope so.

At least get it down far enough that the weather can do the rest...otherwise you're just looking at ice if it gets down to freezing again, lol

I can understand water, as pipes and water mains might break. BUT... how does cold weather affect toilet paper? Are there really that many people who don't have at least 3 days' worth of TP on-hand? To me, 10 rolls = reorder. 6 rolls = buy immediately.

I buy the 20 roll packs when they go on sale. When I have less than 60 rolls it's time to buy another pack. I know toilet paper is something I'll always need as long as I'm alive. I was one of the few people who didn't get caught flat-footed with no toilet paper when the pandemic started.

Nope, not flushable. That's the type of T.P. you bury in the ground.

As long as it goes down the toilet AND makes it to the city sewers, it's flushable. ;)

MUCH of this depends on what type of toilet you have. Here I have imported Asian Toto toilets, washdown style which have the waste pipe going out the back of them. It will swallow a whole roll of 2-ply in one flush. The lateral to the street sewer from one of my bathrooms is only 15', so no longer my problem at that point. That said, I'm not a jerk, so I don't flush "flushable" wipes down. I know those won't fall apart no matter what.
