Most things on Amazon are bought from Alibaba in bulk, then resold on Amazon. If you're buying a "no name" product on Amazon, do a search on Ali, and you can likely find it for a bit less. This is when you hear people saying that Trump "is destroying my small business" or when Amazon says, "60% of sellers are small businesses," this is what they mean.
They're buying things direct from China, and reselling them. Just cut out the middle man, and buy from China direct, yourself.

Years ago I cut up a SF F04 diffuser to modify a Butler Creek flip up lens cap for use on E series bezels. It works fine but due to the smaller window I lose some lumens. The version I use now has a much larger window with a similar quality LDF. I wish it was a spring assisted hinge like the Butler Creek, but I guess everything is a tradeoff.

Man, I waited WAY too long to get a 2AA MDC with my beloved SST-20.
The new body looks a bit goofy, as it's double the two taper bodies, but MAN...it works. I loved the idea of the new taper body for the MDC AA, and it's SO GOOD, and I was a bit skeptical about it in 2AA, but wow.
Also, the mode spacing on the 2AA is different than the MDC AA, but it's still excellent.
This is like the same spacing, but just each mode is brighter.
It's really a fantastic light. I was confused how people said it was smaller than you'd expect, and it kind of is. It's a long light for a 2AA, like the MDC AA, but it feels better in the hand that any other 2AA body I've tried (I usually kind of hate 2AA formats).

I thought the same thing about the bodies. When I got the first one I thought something was wrong with it, the mode spacing seemed off. The two lowest settings seemed pretty close and no moonlight mode like the 1-AA. The second one I ordered was the same.
They are great lights, I'm no longer a flashlight collector so between the wife and I we are down to 3 of the 1-AA and 2 of the 2-AA. I'm using Energizer Lithium primaries in all of them. I'll probably buy one more 1-AA if it comes out with the new electronics. I also have the Malkoff UV light, forgot!
Looks good! I would gladly buy a Made In USA version from Malkoff for something like this

I'm curious of Kosen or Gene will release on of the new programmable UIs in AA.
I love the MDC AA as is, but I'd probably pick one of those up to futz around with it.
Does anyone have a Kosen 3500k or 2700k MDC and could share beamshots with us?

3500K is a great tint for folks who love the color of a well driven incan.
Maybe Gene is making sure that nobody has any problems with the new computer lights (I call them that for fun, heck refrigerators have computers!)
The 1-AA is a popular light according to Gene. I run mine on low (not low low) most of the time so programmability would be interesting.
I would buy the 1-AA in 3500K ! I assume battery life/runtime would be reduced a bit?

What batteries are you using? With Eneloops, I get around 5/25/200 lumens, which is pretty good mode spacing to me. With L91's though it's like 25/50/200 lumens which is not good, IMO. I have the SST-20 4000K version FYI.
While the new V3s are technically programmable, they are not. There’s only so much you can change. And most people will only pick 1-3 options, and honestly the stock option IMO is the best just for the level spacing and no on time memory. Now being able to actually set the output levels along with selecting L/H, H/L, H/M/L and so on would insanely improve the so called “programmable” feature. These drivers also need revised, when a li-ion drops in voltage the low mode has very strong PWM resulting in a flashing sequence. High and medium stay the same
I like the direction they are going with these newer setups but there’s some things that need worked out first and testing be done.
Yes, I am still in 100% favor of duel fuel drivers. Would be so nice to pop in a li-ion in one of my AA or CR123 powered lights. Brings safety and convenience as well to your li-ion only and AA only lights. Got so many different setups just because of driver voltages

Eneloops are life. That's all I use. My cheap hands immediately drop lithium primaries the moment they touch them. If a single use over the lifespan of the cell is more than like two cents, I cannot bring myself to buy them, let alone use them. I've got two L91s someone gave me, and I have not used them. They are for "emergency use," in a scenario where I've drained my few dozen Eneloops, haha.
I'm okay with a more basic programming. Otherwise, it gets into something like Anduril...I'm currently waiting on a D3AA to try that UI out, again, haha.
It's interesting, because I assume Li-ion support was dropped in favor of the circuit just running things dead under a certain voltage. But then also, it's not like they're SUPER efficient on an Eneloop, so I can't see how a boost/buck would be too big of an issue, unless it's a physical space concern in the head.
I am just thrilled mainly for the mode spacing and on time memory is gone plus low voltage protection is great. For me, it don’t even need the extra programming for that matter, but everyone’s uses are different I suppose.
As much as I don’t care for Chinese lights. Anduril is very easy and simple to use, I do enjoy it. Yes it has a ton of features that the normal person would never use but it’s super easy. You’ll like the D3AA, it’s a nice light. He just released a 2 channel version so I been debating on getting one with one led with 1800k and the other two in 4200k. Perfect tint for night time and daytime use in one light
Well, sold all my HDS and everyone said try Malkoff so I jumped in. Very nice indeed! Beautiful beams and built like tanks.
