Peter, are these in stock and shipping? I placed order #1528 last Friday morning with the "quick ship" (no wait for packaging) option and 3 day FedEx. I just checked order status on your site and it says "order received" (not "shipped") and I've not received any tracking info either. Just wondering if they have shipped or when they will be. Thanks.

Here's what Peter quoted on 07/09, this past Saturday.

This coming week we plan on shipping the second batch of quick ship orders. I would estimate they will go out by Friday. We won't be able to get all the quick ship orders however but we should knock out a good number of them.

Is there a shipping option for something other than Fedex?
Preferably UPS or Priority Mail, I've had multiple awful Fedex transactions where they've left valuable items outside the door and with distant neighbors. I don't want to chance it.

No. This has been discussed extensively in many of the existing Arc threads.

I like the jester a lot, and think that it would be an excellent choice, but the idea about a pride with the arc logo would be irresistable. However the dodo and paramilitary are other options that I would like to see. Or even an arc Q. That would be a must buy imho.

Oh and I got order #1597.

Thanks t.i.n, I bit the bullet and ordered anyway.

We are no longer accepting requests for the quick ship option.

For those new to the thread; this was the option whereby your order could be shipped earlier without the retail packaging. This was offered for the first few people because we had the lights but did not yet have the retail packaging (a plastic container and cardboard insert) ready. We are still waiting on that packaging but after we send this week's batch out on Thursday, we will also be out of lights until the end of the month. Since we plan on having the packaging ready at the same time we plan on having more lights, the quick ship option is redundant at this point.

For those orders already in the system, some (those that requested the quick ship) will ship out by the end of the month. The rest should go out by the first week of august. I am sorry for not being able to do this sooner of course!

If you place/ed your order this week, your order should ship out the first week of August.

I may stop taking orders soon if it looks like we are getting too far behind. I don't want you guys to have to wait to long to have an order filled! It takes time to gear up an any new operation and this is no different.

As always, when we expect to ship a product is an estimate. Frequently, it takes longer than we expect. We apologize for the delays and we are trying to deliver the product as close as possible to the date we estimated.

Has anyone asked when a AA version is available?
If this question goes off thread, please ignore, and I will post it elsewhere....

OK, I put an order in on Sunday for quick ship assuming you actually had lights (but maybe no packaging).

Is there a way to cancel the order? I'm not saying I'm going to cancel, i realize it was a "pre-order" after all. I just want to think about it.

-Dave

Yes, you can cancel of course. Just send me an email ([email protected]).

In fact, if you want to make a change to your order, we need to cancel it and start over. The software we use does not let us edit orders.

Peter - would the new AAA head fit the old AAA body ie can we swap heads between the old and new AAAs ?

thanks

My first post.....

First I would like to say hello to everyone. I have been a "Lurker" for a few weeks and decided I should stop being a peeping tom and sign up LOL.

Peter,
I have one of your older ARC AAA and love it... it has never let me down. I have recently ordered one of these newer versions.

I hope you don't mind some advice from a newbie member... But I have some experience with having had an online internet business..... You mentioned that you might suspend orders until you "catch up" on orders that have already been placed. I agree, Take it from experience. If you continue to take orders "and" payment in full without having the item in hand ready to ship Believe me people will start moaning and groaning and then start saying and spreading negative things about the way you handled the situation. As a business owner I know that suspending orders sounds counter-productive but in the long run you will be glad you did....

Just a old nickels worth of wisdom from another business owner.

...back to the original title....

@Red_Dot:
Yeah, the threads of the new and the old Arc AAA are compatible. However, since the new AAA has a modified negative contact which sticks out a bit more than in the original design there are functional limitations: Putting the old head on a new tube works w/o problems BUT putting the new head on an old tube has no effect;
the battery does not make any contact. In fact when screwing down the head of the new AAA on an old tube until it can't be tightened any more, I can feel the battery rattling a bit when shaking the light.
May be that it's just my Arcs but seems logical to me...

I'll ask another possible duplicate question. There are Lithium-Ion rechargeables that, I think, are a little over 3V. Will these: Work? Over drive? Void warranty?
Anyone please feel free to correct my info on the batteries I'm refering to.

I'm expecting it's best not to try this, however Peter will have to weigh in.

It depends. Throughout the life cycle of the Arc-AAA light, there were (2) different threading patterns. If you have one of the tubes that have the older style threads, they will not work. So far, the new Arc4-AAA has fit all but (1) of the tubes that I have on hand. That (1) tube is the older-style that I mentioned.

My preorder shipped, however, it is going to my billing address, and not the shipping address. Sigh. That will delay me for a few days playing with my new light.
