Anyone tried The White Lotus? Really enjoyed series 2 and 3. Don't remember series 1 much but my wife liked it.
 
Watched it when it was shown on TV in 2002 and just rewatched it and forgot how good it was!

Not a series, but the new Netflix doc on the Oceangate sub (Titan) was very eye opening. Well worth the watch.
 
On YouTube, I started watching "Redacted: Declassified Mysteries with Luke Lamana". If you haven't had a chance to check that out, the stories seem pretty impressive and beautifully put together. The narration and graphic novel illustrations are outstanding as well.

It's like a few different series and movies, but owns it alone
There were times I wanted to cheer, throw my remote, or grab some aspirin.

I guess if a series can do all those things, it must have been good,,,, and it was.
Having one of the better endings to a series doesn't hurt.

While back picked up the series with really no expectations, figured be something to watch.
Sometimes you just win on things.

Not only was it done really well, the historical aspect of it (actual footage) puts it over the top.
I can remember all that went down in Colombia,,
and with a well done series, it gets a (y)(y)

couple things I have to say:
~ there are subtitles in about 1/3 of it, they speak Spanish in Colombia so you felt like you were there ~ realism
~ nudity, guessing most people can handle that
~ lastly, the violence in it was strong, even disturbing at times, but massive drug cartels do things how they do things

Again, felt like I was in Colombia in the 80s' for the first three seasons

Have to recommend it

I thought it was definitely good.

It's one season, 13 episodes:
so if you look at it as a mini series that the Producers said 'leave well enough alone'
get it for $9.50 from a couple sellers on A~Z

Never did watch much television, but Hogan's Heroes was one of the better ones. As you say, pretty decent script and casting.

The missus just finished watching all of the Moonlighting series. I liked it when it first came out, and the bits and pieces that I saw when I was going in and out of the room was pretty good. I had forgotten how funny the show is. Has some really good film noir parodies in it. Love the theme song!
 
While on the treadmill I've been watching the first season (1963) of COMBAT!. I remember enjoying it on TV as a kid, but rewatching these episodes now, I never realized what a great show it was. The battle scenes are well done for the MGM backlot limitations (I remember seeing some of the sets at MGM studios), but it's the poignant drama of lives impacted by war that really make it memorable. So far every episode has included a reminder of life's fragility. Looking forward to watching many more seasons this winter...
