autos built outside US + 25% tariff

Honestly though, literally EVERY vehicle is either built outside of the U.S., or has so many foreign parts used to put it together, it doesn't matter if it's built here. There isn't a single full-fledged American vehicle currently built that is purely American. Yes I wish that wasn't the case.

I don't mind 'global suppliers' as long as the trade is fair. Make trade agreements that give suppliers an out via at home manufacturing. That is, foreign manufacturers will be allowed to build in their own country with foreign made bits and bobs at a 'percentage' of the total unit build value. "Fair" is negotiable contingent on overall value trade with that nation. Just keep moving in a 'fair' direction and stop expecting the US to just keep "investing money overseas".

The Dems have been protecting foreign nations in trade deals that they personally would/have been benefit(ing) from.

Instead have a base line trade established that isn't structured on political parties or drifting politics. Instead have base line agreements structured on current economic states. Come back to the table every xx years (non election) to renegotiate. Live with the outcome until then. Unless there are unanimous benefits to all to renegotiate sooner.
Also have nations that are below a certain gdp/trade value negotiate between themselves. They have no say in global market economics outside of group deals.

This can be a global benefit. Everyone wins if they stop being so greedy, fearful, paranoid, negative words etc. Trust with verification.
"Walk softly but..." works in more than one venue.

sure, but my post was regrading full 25% tariffs.

an F150 may go up a few percent because of parts price increase

The LMH Aston Martin sounds like the Jaguar V12 (IMSA GTP class) from the '80s.

One of the best engine notes I'v heard in person.

...well, I believe they have Cosworth in common, so that's a lot in itself;-)
Thanx -I wasn't familiar with that car, but Now I know why that 'GM' rang a bell with me. Gordon Murray, of course - the guy who drove an NSX to work and back every day while he was designing the F1. Lots of great quotes from him;-)

"The moment I drove the 'little' NSX, all the benchmark cars–Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini–I had been using as references in the development of my car vanished from my mind," said Murray.

EDIT: (oops) @boo5ted

Nice! Never knew what a Porsche was till a family friend drove his brand new '73 guards red 911T to the house. Yeah, it made that much of an impression! Took me for a ride in the moutains, to show me what the car could do. I instently fell in love with the car. It did help that he could drive the car as well.

Somewhere around 4 years later. I had two friends who drove a Porsche, a silver 911S, and a Targa. ... What I drive? ... I didn't. I rode a shovelhead. ... lol

In that picture of the RSR in post#3433, one would say it looks like a radiator in the front for liquid cooling.
Yes & no,, that is a dedicated oil cooler that continuously pumps cooled oil back to the flat 6.

without looking it up, that engine probably has around 8 quarts of oil in it.

I live within walking distance to Road America,, can be outside and tell you the type of car by the engine note tearing around the track.
Nothing beats the sound of a high compression, high revving air cooled flat 6
w/ basically headers out back.

That's cool! ... (y)

Been to Oshkosh once, and man, the flies you guys got in WI, are "MEAN" as heck! ... lol

That would be the same as the 959 (?). It had the air intakes on both sides of the front wheels, or was it for the brakes? Nevur mind, now I see what you're talking about.

One Sleeper Porsche was 914-6. A friend bought a 914, but couldn't swing up to the 6. Still was a nice car, IMO.

RE: 959
Right behind me is an original David Kimble cutaway drawing of a 959.
Saw it in the back of my Dads issue of Autoweek in about '86,, ordered it up right away and framed it myself.
..still have it after all these years
