I remember some years ago Oveready made a Zirconium BOSS light, that was in 2018 or 2019...???? The Zirc BOSS was looking cool. because it was glossy black if I remember correctly. Therefore a HDS in the same finish .... wohohoooooo.

That is a cool Idea. But that HDS will not fulfill the War Weapons Control Act I believe. But maybe HDS may produce that much of this lights that all will be delivered to Ukraine and fired to the russian occupied areas...

I remember when HDS crossed the 85 lumen mark, we went nuts. Those were the days, CPF was super active. This was before FakeBook though.

I realized a few minutes ago NB30-NB45 is available. Cool! But I am still waiting for NB27... :confused:
My NB35 finally arrived a few days ago, and it really is something special. Here's a comparison, left to right:
1. Peak Eiger Nichia 219b SW30
2. Emisar DW4 dedomed Nichia 519a 4500k (I'd estimate ~3200k after dedome)
3. Rotary NB35
4. Peak Eiger Nichia 219b SW40
5. DW4 dedomed 519a 5700k (slightly over 4000k after dedome)
6. Convoy M21F 4500k GT-FC40
The 219b SW40 used to be my overall favorite, but I think the NB35 dethroned it!

I am torn between two of the best, for me, HDS high CRI lights. I have two of each led. One rotary each and one Executive each and one of those executives is titanium.
The Nichia 219c 5700 200 lumen "high noon"
The Samsung 5400 300 lumen "high noon".
I like the slightly superior color rendition of the nichia "high noon" but I like the 300 lumens of the Samsung "high noon". I have found myself carrying the Samsung rotary daily for the last 18 months mostly for the lumens.

Why are these common emitters $36 extra?

If I recall correctly, it goes to how the lights are manufactured. The LEDs have to be installed, there is a minimum cost per LED run, and with these emitters the runs are short. On the other hand, I believe there are two emitters HDS uses that have longer production runs so the cost per unit to mount the emitters is less.

I thought I read that HDS reflows their emitters. Maybe not.
Nichia requires a sizable order qty to order direct, but there's reputable USA based resellers that other custom makers buy from.
