That's it, thanks! I was thinking that but then thought it was something for blue jeans.
Kinda looks like they put it in a rock tumbler with a set of keys.
 
Somehow my phone does not like uploading pictures, but the Elzetta pocket clip for the flashlight line works well for the rotary line. However, you can only do bezel up when you slide the pocket clip all the way to the bezel. It's a very snug fit so it will definitely stay in place.

Also Hogo, you hear any word from Henry about making the knurling on the new batch of flashlights a little more aggressive. My HDS slipped out of my hand cause of it's light knurling while pulling it out of my pocket, prior to clearing a building of an open door.

I did bring it up, and have not heard yet if he will or will not do a slightly more aggressive knurling. I will be sure to bring it up again when I see him on Thursday.
 
Again, my phone is acting weird, but the light still worked (no doubt that it wouldn't) and just a tiny scratch on the bezel. Again, it would be nice if the knurling was a moderately aggressive.

Thanks Dan! That would be nice! The older legacy clickies I have has one of the best knurling ever produced by HDS. I felt the knurling on the rotaries more lacking.

On a side note, is it possible for buyers to request a non-stonewashed look on the bezel? I still like the natural semi-gloss finish first offered.
 
That's the reason I carry my Rotary's with the grommet and o-ring installed under the tail cap. It has a sticky feel to it (but does not collect lint) which makes it easy to draw from it's Kydex holster, something my fingers can grab (?) while turning the tail cap, as well as giving me the confidence of not dropping the light even when I'm holding the light in the rain.

We've been hoping for tails as durable as the bezel for a few years now and it would be great now that things are running more smoothly to see one come available.

Here's a thread I started back in 2010 with a poll asking for various things we'd love to see from HDS and it's nice to see the lower-low finally a reality.

If anyone has both an old firmware and a new firmware light I'd like to see a head on shot with the difference between the old low and the new low-low.

PS although I'll never be able to afford one. I'd bet a Damascus Steel HDS would be an absolute KILLER light!

it would have to be smooth, or the knurl would hide the pattern.
although if you could get the etch deep enough it would have a ribbed type effect for more grip
 
If I recall right HDS use to offer aluminum bezels as an option on the website for those who wanted the lightest light and/or one that wouldn't spark if struck hard against something. I remember way back in one of the threads he commented about it.

I had this idea a year or so ago. I wanted to have a custom run of copper or brass HDS lights made, have my logo engraved on the bezel, make them all Hi CRI, and sell them with a nice leather holster that holds a spare battery... financing such a run sort of became the problem, that and we all know about the production issues we were having.
 
Does anyone knows if the latest 140 clicky (not the high CRI) still use an Osran GDP or an XP-G?
