I thought I would make a little list here of things that folks have wanted from HDS, and let me know if I'm missing anything...

Hogo's Top 10 Requests.

10. Fix the damn grittiness of the rotary tail in counter-clockwise mode (and please don't then make clockwise gritty in the process)

I’d like to know if we can get the Triple Click lockout back? The current mid-body twist action is a PITA.

So, I recently got an EDC Executive 170 and I love it.

I’m looking at the website and browsing the custom light builder and I see that the EDC Executive is available at 250 lumens standard with a 325 Lumen option. With the 325 Lumen option it also noted the beam pattern is wider. What kind of change to beam pattern are we talking? I like this EDC 170 a lot, including the beam pattern but want a little more output. Is the upgrade worth it? Is there a picture out there possibly?

I prefer the 250 more. The 325 is a slightly wider and doesn’t seem a lot brighter. The tint on the 325 is also notorious for being slightly greenish. YMMV, but that’s just my take on it.

The 170 was using an Osram LED which is very small compared to the current emitters. You will not see a significant difference.

I must admit, I do like the old green HAIII. The issue has always been getting it to match. It's why nobody does it anymore. It is a production nightmare (and a customer nightmare if anyone remembers the complaining about mis-matching parts in the past) HOWEVER, we are discussing ways of perhaps doing short runs where all the aluminum stock is from the exact same piece and the parts are anodized as a set, thus alleviating the miss-match issue. These would be a short run and because of that, be more expensive. How much more expensive I have no idea.

Haha. Let’s face it my LX2 is a great flashlight with the TIR beam and HAIII anodizing; but if HDS made a Rotary 18650 platform with the throw and anodizing of my LX2, it would easily be the do-it-all flashlight. That is if you have a F04 diffuser on hand...

So if all parts are anodized at same time all in the same lot they may come out different shades?? Even if they are all the same meteral??

If they are electrically connected to each other, then they should come out as close as possible to the same color. That's what we are looking into.

HMOG! The long lusted for " Tritium Slot Bezel " !! :D Please let it be the Black Bezels...trits will scream in that. Finally would have my perfect light.
Make that happen and I'll chip in for that expensive tail your having...:devil: Lobster of course.:D

In my experience, variations in material composition can also result in shade variation (plating thickness, dye take up, etc.). Sometimes, surface finish also contributes to a real or a perceived difference in shade, as well. Unless machined out of the same heat lot of material to the same surface finish, shade variation is always a possibility.

Exactly. The head, battery tube, and switch cap would all have to be machined from the same bar stock, then those pieces would need to be anodized together in order to get the closest possible color match.
