It’s completely dead. If I shake the head I can hear a rattling noise. Any idea how to fix it?

That's new enough I'm sure they'd refurb it and send it back in a couple weeks.
It’s quite beaten up but I guess it should handle that. I’m located in Europe so not so easy to send to Surefire. Do Surefire cover the freight back?

They pay return shipping, but not sure if includes EU. I'd call and ask
I just filled in there warranty form. I can send it for around 10usd which is okay if they fix it. Do you think it’s a problem that the head has been disassembled?

Put it back together before you send it. Don't tell (unless they ask) if it was taken apart, and of course don't show photos of flashlight disassembled
10 USD is very reasonable from Europe 👍
In many instances SF has been known to send a brand new light as replacement.

It’s really beaten up. I don’t know if this much wear will count as miss use? The problem must be in the head because I can hear a rattling sound when I shake it. It was included in a package deal as a broken light. I will see what the answer from Surefire will be. If I have to pay some expensive freight back it’s not worth it. I will be honest that I’m not the first owner (don’t know if it effects warranty)

Just saw that the light have some kind of marking (DDE SR5 or similar). Must be some company/government marking for inventory. The origin is USA. Is it possible to understand where the light have been used? I like beat up lights with history. I would prefer if they could repair it and not change the head or hole light.

Make sure to send note with flashlight that you prefer them to fix this one and/or return same flashlight. Tell them it has sentimental value to you.

Idk, guessing previous owners I.D. initials, or could be a work department..
The acronym SR5, only one i know is Toyota;-)

If they ask, tell them you are original owner not bought on secondary market..

Did it function when you got it?

You did not pull it out of a garbage can, correct?

It was included in a package deal with four beaten up Surefire. Three of them was old P60 lights and was the lights I wanted. A hobby to fix old lights and make them functionally new, new LED module, o-rings, change scratched lens and install McClicky for example. There is no sentimental value in this light but I would like to bring it back to working condition. I will wait for answer from Surefire and see what I do. Maybe disassemble and see if it’s easy to repair by myself. Maybe ask Tana if he can swap LED and fix it. I think it deserves a new life instead of being scrapped.

Any idea what the lose part in the head can be? Can it be easy to fix by myself?

I think Lumens Factory makes a replacement P60 head for those.

Nasty dent on the “caution hot surface” lettering. Bet that’s the ding that killed it.
Love the pictures, especially the smoooooth tailcap.
Probably just one little old lady owner from new, low mileage, never raced or rallied! 😉🤣
