Any way to get a McGizmo bored for 18650 these days?
That diameter compromises the integrity of the E-Series geometry in my opinion. The wall thickness of the battery tube at the O-ring groove where the head to tube seal goes is way too thin and a clear failure point with a good drop or knock. I understand that there are some members who have bored the tubes out and it's possible.

I can do boring, but yes, wall thickness is always an issue. Usually I ask for the exact diameter of the cells you customarily use, at operating temperature.
I then bore just over that and test with the light itself at a low temp. Even better ship a cell with the light if possible.
PM me to discuss if you like.

I just came across this article from November 2025, when Scuba Diving named Don a Sea Hero and featured a very nice interview with him. Many folks on CPF already know about The Man's amazing ocean conservation work, but it's nice to see him recognized more widely.

Congrats, Don, and thank you for your commitment to sea turtle rescue!
