!!!! WARNING: Always remove the batteries before work. Unlike LEDs, HIDs can generate over the 20000v at startup.

If you do this without removing the battery, cannot guarantee that it will be life critically. !!!!

You'll need a spot welder and precision-cutting nippers.

I used a DX10 spot welder and Plato nippers.

1. Reposition the return wire to an appropriate location.

2. Determine the length and damage of the return wire and determine if cutting is necessary. If cutting is necessary, leave about 1mm of leeway.

3. For the DX10 welder, start at approximately 20-30% of the weld power and apply the welding rod to the left and right sides of the return wire, pressing it in as if pressing it.

For the DX10 welder, it's recommended to set the standby time to 3 seconds (maximum).

The DX10 welder can be set to a maximum of 130% power, but even at 80% power spotting, it's powerful enough to cut the return wire.

It's important to start with 20-30% power and take your time.
