Thanks, that's great. The compensation for being near the bottom of the list is that you are continuing to refine what was already a gorgeous looking light. :)

That is one of the more enjoyable parts of building lights is the continual tweaking that can done to improve different aspects of the lights. Another thing that could be done is to whittle away at the length, but I like where the dimensions are at presently.

Can i change mine to a 18500 tube?

Devin, KUDOS!! You're knocking it out of the park with this one! Only had it in my hands for less than 30 min but I really like it. Initial impression is your machining ability is as good as any current maker and better than many. The head and body join practically seamlessly, the threads are silky smooth. Great work!

I like the size and this is going into my EDC messenger bag. It can easily be pocket-carried but I will probably stick to my 18350s for that - well, that is until I get my hands on the Cu 18500 you're building as my next one. I'm really excited about that one, as luck would have it I already have 18500 batteries in my inventory since I have one other light that uses that size..

Thanks for the kind words. I have carried both formats and while my prototype brass one is perfectly pocketable, I typically carry my 18500 copper prototype as it fits my hand just right. While I liked the Hanko I had in my possession for a while, I found it to be too short to comfortably hold, so if I make any 18350s they will be more like a Mac EDC in size.

Devin, I received the "oops" light today, what can I possibly add. The light is fantastic! The oops is overshadowed by everything else. Like az2 said, the machining great. Super smooth. Great job!

Glad to hear you like it. My personal 18500 has the same slight offset in the seam, so I have went back to the original way of matching the seams which seems to be more consistent.

Not currently, the lights are made one by one on a manual lathe, and reservations are for one complete light per entry.

In an effort to maximize the number of lights done prior to classes resuming, I will be waiting to assemble any I currently make till after labor day to focus on machining.

I am also testing potting the engines, which if it goes well will be the default option. This will adjust cost by +$15 and will also include the use of a grounding wire in the pill instead of the external solder joint for a cleaner and more reliable ground connection.
The purpose of the potting compound is to protect against drop shock, particularly minimizing the effect of the battery slamming into the driver in a hard impact. The compound is also a thermal potting compound and should prove a little better in giving the driver a thermal path instead of air.

Thoughts are welcome.

Working on the last of the brass lights today before moving back to the top of the list.

Here is what a ~70% done light looks like.

The brass lights minus one, the 3rd from the right is an out-of-spec one and will be offered with a complimentary clip.
The bezel bore is overcut and may require a watch gasket o-ring instead of the usual o-rings.

The out-of-spec one is the base price, and includes a complimentary clip. If you don't mind a regular engine with a Qlite, I have one on hand and that would be $260.
Still deciding the price difference that potting will make, I have to alter the pill design a bit to allow for proper filling of the pill. Probably be working on rings and pills tomorrow for this batch of lights.

Just to throw in my two cents: Devin is potting my light right now...after having had it a couple of weeks and now not having it, I reach for this light every time I need one. Most of you know I have a rather large collection and rotate my edc based on need. The Sigma 18650 fits my hand perfectly and the driver meets all my needs. On any given day I carry an 18650 light, a one cell 16340 light and a14500 or 10440 light plus two or three 10180 lights on my keyring. This light "does it all" and does it better than most others. Devin has done an outstanding job and I hope for our(CPF) sakes that whatever he accomplishes with his schooling that he will always keep a side business of custom light building going. On my list of "lights I have not yet acquired" are a Sigma 18500, and if Devin gets ambitious and I get lucky, a turbo Sigma18350...
At first, I wanted just one head and three different size bodies(18650, 18500 & 18350). When Devin explained why that was not the way he was building these lights, it made perfect sense...would you rather have three Shelby Cobra's or one Shelby Cobra with three engines? Kudos to Devin for a great light, excellent work ethic and outstanding customer service.
