Some background story, I recently put in an order for the MX25L3Cvn but currently on hold. Could be forever but maybe over time the project will restart. Time will tell. In the meantime I've been thinking about what to do but need help from fellow flashlight folks. Should I:

2) pick up a MX30L3C and send it in to vinh for thermal pads, led replacement to Nichia 219C 70+ cri and current boost? I would plan on keeping stock ui.

3. Pick up a TK75vnQ70 that is diffused dome but also able to use battery extension tubes. This would mean lower output than what is currently available at the store. Speaking of that any guesses as to what the lumen output would be? 13000? I would also probably wait for drivervnx3 before thinking of this light.

I currently own a TK75vnQ PDTc and love it but I have nothing that is "crazy" like the Q70 version. Any input would help :)

I wonder why the tk75vnQ70 u want would have lower output? Is it because the dome not shave or the battery extension? I do have a quad light with diffused q70 and the beams are smooth.

The Q70 would make an excellent hiking light if you don't mind the size(having the Q says you don't mind) and the beam is a wall of far throwing light. Would maybe look at the 5000k xhp70's , for a more neutral tint which kind of gets that bit closer to the nichia(shaved dome more so). Although it's not the exact nichia tint it's still not as cool as the 6000k if makes sense(call it a happy medium ).

Also would be able to swap about the runtime kit between the Q and Q70, so there is a little bit of extra flexibility !

Would you not consider the rc40vnF version, kind of a bigger brother to the Q70! Will handle the heat a bit better which I know is a concern for you.......just a thought

If I went the RC40vnF route I'd be selling a light or 2 and no longer go back to the idea of the MX25L3Cvn. It's something to consider. I'd probably sell my K50vn Fiat Lux and one of my arms [emoji16]. Maybe a leg too...lol.

Didn't even think about the RC40vnF but it would make sense since heat is a primary concern plus it is a different light altogether from a TK75vnQ.

That's what I was thinking instead of having two lights the same(excl LEDs )and the mass to help higher output run times.

iirc you had an x60vn, if you can cope with that size of light then your good to go. It really is a nicely made light, feels and looks high quality ( which it should) but not always the case.

That should see you right.......for the rest of your life :laughing: . I tend to get 5g tubes and each lasts years.....

Wow- I was so lucky with dedoming my CQVN. I did it while it was HOT!
Probably from the old batch :)
I o my dedomed the 2 XPL - it also has two domed XPG2 that I'm afraid to dedome even tho I'd like the warmer tint ... Don't wanna risk it!

Ven, I suspect you are right up near the top. I appreciate your good natured and intelligent contribution to this forum.

I don't know, many have more posts than me, vinh has to be up there!!! Think highest I might have clocked is about 18k , so would guess vinh maybe in the top 5......

Yes, I was surprised when I opened the box! And boy does it throw! :D and with a nice warmer tint. I'm now waiting for my next light, a TX25C2vn. It will be my EDC light. I hope I get lucky again... Lol!

I have on FL light and its one of my fav special lights! only a couple of them, Jon has the other and even then they are not exact, so guess me and Jon have 1 offs!
