thanks for pointing out the discrepancy in the website.. they say four in the part you quoted, but list PID on only three in the part I quoted..

I doubt step 9 at 410 lm would even generate enough heat to exceed the 55C ceiling and trigger the thermal sensor.. you could test that if you have an IR thermometer, or could write to Zebra to clarify..

my guess is the thermally sustainable output in actual use is step 10 at 790 lm

in any case, I would rather have PID IF the light exceeds 55C thermal ceiling, on whatever output does so.

I recall seeing a lot of discrepancies like that on the ZL website over the years. They seem to paste old prose from an earlier description, update some of it for the new light, but overlook other parts that need updating. They usually get the right data there eventually....

SC70 opened for inspection

congrats!
is your reason to change because you want Rosy tint?
are you happy with the beam, not excessive donut hole shadow in the center of the hotspot?
i've destroyed a glass lens while opening. This one is very thin, 1mm. At the moment i have installed only reflector and tint is amazing. No donut hole but when i build it fully i will be 100% sure. Then I'll post photos and beams

Has anyone actually received an SC70 recently? I know they had barely shipped any as of a couple weeks ago, but I'm not sure if they've started shipping backorders to regular customers yet. The last mention by anyone receiving one on Reddit is from May 12.

I'm a bit concerned that possibly something was learned from the 1st batch, not in a good way, that delayed releasing of further batches.

The SC70 is In Stock...

Most recent post from someone that has an SC70, other than this_is_nascar and mcbob, was 22 days ago here on CPF

(not sure when they were ordered)

Im not seeing any posts from people that are excited about the SC70, nor anyone recommending it. Some comment that the beam is floody, and the tint not too green.
