Could be a cannon ball
Nope. It's not metallic.

Also...did CPF change its look again?
Yep, I'm guessing it will only be temporary. The last time it appeared like this to me, I wasn't logged in. I am now, but it's still different.

Looks like an old Bocce Ball why is it on the kitchen table?
I was wondering the same thing. What's that doing on the table? It's not a Bocce ball.

This bowl was placed next to it.

Soooo....back to what @TPA said...using that Japanese hand polishing method...
That is correct, Sir! 🤓 Upon seeing the bowl, I thought it was cocoa. But it didn't have much of an aroma. A few seconds later, one of our sons walked into the room. I turned and, with a scrunched-up look on my face, and said, "That's the worst-tasting cocoa I've ever eaten." He started to smile, but wasn't fooled.

The contents of the bowl was double-sifted dirt.

For "found in the middle of the street" - For folks doing large diameter piping & lining up the bolt holes on flanges at equipment and/or instrumentation - that is exactly the item they use. Working in pulp & paper mills with some of our equipment having flanges in the 24" to 36" range I see this pretty often. Don't have any idea of the name of it. I presume it fell off a truck. You would also use it to line up bolt holes on a car or other equipment. Gives you some leverage.

Ya'll quit bragging on still needing a hair dryer. :D

Without being crude, most people have hair elsewhere which needs to be dried... which is why we keep a desiccant dehumidifier in the bathroom. A nice steady stream of dry warmed air keeps the bathroom from fogging up and also helps dry off the body more easily. We have this model, although I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. This model has a design flaw where they didn't use a proper bearing for the desiccant wheel, so after awhile it becomes VERY chattery and loud. It will still work, just noisy compared to its silent running when new.

Whenever I go to a hotel or motel I check the screens on the hair dryer and through the wall HVAC. The majority of the time they're clogged up. A quick pick off of the dryer screen crud, rinse it off in the sink, then wash the HVAC screens off in the shower.

They work much better without the restricted airflow. Most of those places only clean those when they're to the point of not working at all.
You need to start staying at nicer hotels! I'm in hotels >75 nights/year and they DO maintain filters.

It may also depend on location not just hotels. Some cities are better at inspections and holding hotels accountable than others. I've been to places where the hotel's elevator was more than a year past the last inspection. I didn't check, but I'll bet their filters were also out of spec/ unmaintained.
Of course, you'd hope that the establishments would hold themselves accountable...just sayin' don't wave a UV light around the room. LOL

🤓 That's not a hard choice to make: a $250 dehumidifier that becomes noisy after a while, or a towel. BTW, my post was a joke.

I believe it's a Lady Foot Rolling Head prybar.

Regular gasoline is $4.54 in Tacoma, WA.
That's absolutely nuts. As of writing this (June 3, 2025), I can get JetA for $3.31/gallon, Avgas (100LL) $4.28/gal. Mogas Regular is $2.52, Premium is $3.02.

Sounds like the politicians in your state are too comfortable with their positions.

Not going to change anytime soon. Too many ppl are making too much money making ppl swim in the swamp. And too many ppl are too blonde...sorry, blind to care. Not CG, but he's an outlier.

Me? Right now I'm not much better off. In San Diego, average is $4.75 for 87oct, $5.25 for 91. I don't know what the other stuff you said is. I used to be able to get race gas (100oct) at a local station for about a buck more than premium. Otherwise, you have to buy it at the track for twice or more or have it shipped in.
