Interesting that we're talking about warranties. I bought a Momentum Sea Quartz last November and it stopped working a couple of days ago. Momentum have already agreed to replace it and its on its way. That's what I call customer service. I'll post again when it arrives.

Huh I have a momentum that also stopped recently I have been lazy to contact them. good to know and a good kick to get me to contact them. Mine is more a field watch with full lume and GMT.
$520 +shipping/insurance to service it is pretty steep.
Yet another reason I tend to stick w/ watches who have movements I am comfortable futzing w/ or outright replacing on my own.
Just received last week. Sel Instruments out of Arizona. XOS Omnidiver 42. With blacked out face and HAQ. Bracelet on order. Over engineered.

So my new SQ30 arrived today. The bezel and clasp of the old one were a little stiff but the new one is better. For a 42mm watch, this one fits my wrist really well. Very happy.
Back on this one, but now on leather!
The branded strap for this guy is pretty nice. Italian leather and a sweet VonBuren logo on the buckle.
I thought it was gonna be a bit too thick at first, but it fits and feels exactly right. Normally not a huge fan of Divers on leather, but as long as I'm not planning on hitting the water before swapping straps, I figure it's fine.

I like divers on leather. And, I don't dive. I do keep some on bracelets and others on leather, just to mix things up for options, by mood of the day.

The replacement arrived yesterday. Whilst it's identical to the original, the clasp and bezel are not as stiff. For a 42mm watch it wears very well on my 7 1/2 inch wrist.

I know traduonally, Pilots are on the larger side, but 40 really is a sweet spot.

I quit wearing watches 11 years ago when I retired. I also took my digital alarm clock out to the rifle range, and put a round of .300 Winchester Magnum through the front of it. It took me about 5 minutes to pick up all of the pieces of plastic. In the last 11 years I have had no use for either.
No body here cares about digital alarm clocks. I threw mine into the recycling can, saved my ammo. Let's see your vintage watches from 11 years ago?

I have 2 Seiko's that I haven't worn in years. One yellow, and one in Stainless steel. They have that self winding set up. If you don't wear them daily, you have to shake them back and forth for awhile to get them wound enough to work.
That's a heck of a way to hit the snooze!
Retirement may be shaking people in different ways. I had an alarm clock on my bedside table and a watch on my wrist for as long as I can remember, until my mobile phone rendered both unnecessary. It still serves as an alarm clock when I seldom need it but I re-started wearing a watch after retirement. Furthermore, wrist watches become a focus of interest. After reading your post, I now wonder if the more we age, the more wrist watches resemble ticking time bombs that remind us the march of time towards the inevitable halt. We may simply be reacting in opposite ways.
