This is why the common understanding “if accuracy is so important for you, then buy quartz” doesn’t resonate with me. I feel deep respect for achieving this level of accuracy by means of gears and springs. Enjoy your Master Chronometer watch.

I have a group of good folks. I am responsible for all radio communications for "the largest state agency by employee count in the United States". I find that in a technical field people are not intellectually challenged, and have an easy time at getting along. Respect, trust, integrity are things that coincide with that. Last year they recognized the sounds coming from my office were not directed at them...good thing! 😁

Vostok was never really on my radar until I read an a watch forum that they are known as the AK-47 of the watch world. They are often very plain looking or even ugly at times and while being very affordable they just work well. I also saw a video online where a man tests various watches in a pressure chamber and he was testing a cheap Scuba Dude Vostok. That watch went to something like 125 % farther past the advertised rating and so much so the acrylic glass began to show stress fractures. I was sold right then and today have maybe 6 total Vostok watches.

I also saw a video on the very watch you have mentioned above (Radio Room)and they were doing a torture test. Before the testing began they put it on a time graph right out of the box. It was showing dead on at zero sec per day and had an almost perfect beat error. Now I know that result can happen to any automatic at times yet it was impressive for a watch under $120 dollars. The torture test went well and after all kinds of abuse ,including extreme pressure testing, the watch was still performing within a few sec per day.

100% agree! They are very well made for the price point. I've had mine since 2019 and I've been elbow deep under truck and car hoods, worked with it, swam with it, knocked it off door frames, dropped it a few times. And still it keeps on beating.
I found out about them much the same as you did, thought about it for a while and went for it. At first I was like....what is this chintzy thing lol! But then I got into the Horology and history of the watch and how it came about and why its made the way it is with the ring clamp back and the loose crown when unscrewd....all of them serves a purpose on the watch. And as far as keeping time. It does great! In my opinion vostok in some cases under sell thier watches. On their website I think it states their watches keeping -30 to +60 seconds a day...they do way better than that! All in all it has been a great watch and I think any watch collector needs to have at least one in their collection. Mines definitely won a solid place in the rotation of watches I wear. 👍👍
