hmmmmm. You just opened up Pandora's box now (enter NL in 3......2....1) . If you want to be blown away, go with the tn36utvn. Lol

for it's size, it's a beast. But the mk34vn is a lot smaller. I got both. Haven't even got to fire up the mk34vn yet cause I need my button tops. (Go back to earlier convo in the thread if this doesn't make sense).

I'm a machinist/mechanic and I mocked up a nylon block to simulate the size of the TN36 and it was just a bit bigger than I expected, but the output is nuts. I think going from my 4000 lumen TM06s to a 7000+ light will be enough for the moment. I'll probably break down at some point (tax refund) and get the TN36 just to have for the house.

well then, if its a matter of joining the club....and letting MC408 off the hook as the rookie...I'll join if you send me that TK75:naughty:

ill always be the rookie actually. Clueless when it comes to specs and leds and mods. I just buy what NL recommends and enjoy Reading wimmer and OGs jokes . :naughty:

Depends what you want -
If it is a product that I want; I always check SkyLumen first - ( I have about 10 vn lights now and 2 on order/shipping)
also sometimes I will ask (email) if SkyLumen can work on a specifc light for me.
I like boosted lights and SkyLumen provides a Warranty; which is a very big deal when buying lights that don't have a US distributer.

SkyLumen does have a MK34 for $180; that one will be 6500k and have boost using the same LEDs that the mK34 ships with.

if price is the absolute issue - I check amazon.com. goinggear.com, gearbest.com, banggood.com
I also check for group buys - (there are a couple of guys on CPF who do this)
Currently there is no group buy for the manker MK34 that I could find

I went with the MK34vn $180 version that retains the factory LED's. It is definitely brighter than the stock version and most importantly it has Vinh's driver which I love, his warranty etc. Well worth the price difference.

I lurked for a year and did a LOT of Googleing (is that a real verb?) before I joined.
Then I was polite and asked polite questions - the people here have been truly supportive.

My only "mistake" was the very first light I ever purchased - nitecore EC4S
That light has bad parasitic drain - had I read a few reviews, I might not have purchased it.
hmmm I wonder if Vinh can fix it. i'll have to ask.

I just added the JetBeam R16vn to my cart as well. Does anyone know if this comes with the battery or will I need to add a battery to my cart?

I doubt it comes with a battery.
Great little light - terrible UI but wonderful throw and decent hotspot with XPLHI.
I have the 4000K version as my car light where it's convenient having the USB charging.
