Blues... a collection of very good taste you have there.

if I had a dog I would also go out with my malkoffs. on the way back I would ask the neighbor if he would take me to take his dog for a walk too ... :) haha

Note: Does the gene still have these lanyards?

Thanks, Marco.

Funny thing is I just got off the phone with Gene about a half hour ago and mentioned to him I'd never be able to hold a candle to you or INFRNL. We both got a chuckle out of it and he sure appreciates what you guys mean to the business.

I don't know if they still have the lanyard or not. A while back I had meant to throw it in on an order as an afterthought and forgot, so I called Cathy the next day and she put it in the box but wouldn't accept payment. (I know I'm not surprising anyone by saying that.)

Feel free to come up from Brazil and walk my dog anytime, Marco. I've only ever been to Sao Paulo but I'd love to go back to Brazil again some day.

Lovely little flashlight you have there Modernflame! congratulations!

Thanks, Marco! When you climb to the mountain top of Malkoff wisdom, you find that Marco Weiss has already been sitting there, waiting for some company.

This will bring my Malkoff family up to 8.

Great collection! I'm up to 10 with my most recent purchase. You've got a couple I don't have and vice versa. We should get together and compare notes.

did you get the neutral or CW MDC? But if memory serves, low mode should look about the same and there should be a slight difference in high mode.

I got the neutral version. Of course, my eyes are a poor judge of luminosity, but I can't tell any difference, even when I hold them side by side. By contrast, I can see the difference between the M61T and the HOT when they are side by side.

Thanks! I don't really get into analyzing and measuring data and minutiae. I pretty much treat 'em like my knives and guns. They're tools to be used. (But I do take good care of and enjoy them.)

They certainly appear to have been well cared for. I've got a soft spot for a workhorse flashlight.

I previously timed my M91T MD3, on High mode, with two Keeppower 18500 1700mah batteries and achieved 1 hr 23 minutes of run time.

Keeppower have now increased these batteries to 2000mah so by my rough calculations that should allow the M91T to run on high for approx 1 hr 40 minutes!!

:twothumbs

Now this isn't very Malkoffian, but I thought you'd be interested...

MD2 TRIPLE.jpg

It's an MD2 with a Triad tail, 22.3 head and a Torchlab Nichia Triple Drop In.
Martin D White, of this parish, opened out the rataining ring to fit the drop In and made me a heatsink to sit between the drop in and the walls of the head.
I think the extra mass of the Malkoff host compared with that of the usual Surefire hosts, plus the heatsink, make for much better heat control.

Sorry fuzzy pics.

Perfect! When I go to the United States, I'll walk with your dog! haha
I can not forget to meet your collection of lanterns.

I've never been to the United States, but this year my wife would like to travel and get to know Orlando, the parks, oulets and everything else the city has to offer.
She would meet the Harry Potter´s park.

And I?

I'm seriously considering going to Alabama to see Malkoff´s Park. haha

I would very much like to meet Gene personally, take a picture with him and visit the Malkoff museum.

I'm very curious about this new toy that you've assembled
Can you take better pictures of that adapter made by Martin?
Can you describe a little better what was actually done?

I have great interest in this triple drop v5 with nichia leds 219c
Did you buy this new crop that was released this week?

Did you see the photos on instagram?
I'm glad to see Malkoff in the instagram. Social networks have this gift of approaching the brands of their customers and fans.

I loved the photo of the museum, the dropins being manufactured and that table full of products that would be sent after the sales weekend ...

Has anyone heard if Malkoffs recent price increases reflect an upgrade from common 6061 to a more durable 7075 alloy?
I for one wouldn't mind paying an extra 10% for a tougher more ding resistant aluminium like 7075-T6

I imagine the slight price increase is just typical inflation. Plus the fact that Gene has had to make changes in machine shops fairly recently that may or may not have any effect on the cost difference.
My guess stays with the typical inflation that everyone/everything follows on an annual basis, IDK

New England woods.
I was a bit surprised to so the M61LL would not run using 2XAA NiMH (only a faint glow). Somehow I remember the M60LL doing it.

Kj2.. Nice sales pitch for Elzetta! Do your own research in the alloy comparisons, you'll find 7075 is a better choice for strength, durability, with no substantial differences in heat sinking capabilities

Yeah, I'd be very surprised by a sweeping change to the entire product line, but I am anxiously anticipating the release of a new flashlight of some sort. I've got a feeling we'll see something new in 2018.

As far as the price increase, I think that Malkoff products are reasonably priced, all things considered. The recent change isn't enough to sway me.

if prices increased then does this mean that our collections have appreciated too? [emoji85] [emoji86] [emoji87]

I'm glad to have invested in that weekend of discounts ... haha
