Thanks for ur interest in my run time test. My twisty looks to be a standard cool white LED, what's the color temp of your HCRI SSC P4?

Looks like a Seoul P4 to me.

Edit: was at end of page so didn't notice that you already were answered.

Re: HDS Systems EDC # 16

I don't know, I bought it on CPFMP two months ago. Compared w/ my Malkoff M31 219 (Nichia 219, 92CRI, 4500K) it's warmer, but compared with nailbender Hi CRI (Cree XP-G, 90CRI, 3000K) and Zebra SC80c (Luxeon Rebel, 85CRI, 4000K) it is closer to the last one so CCT is about 4000K and 93CRI.

thanks I'm currently doing a run time test with that twisty using a 3400mah 18650, so far its 2 weeks in and its still going.

Awesome! I'll have to find and resurrect the Twisty discussion thread so we can talk about this some more.

Cool ! I'll be following your test with a great interest. Thanks for doing it.

NBP, this is a great idea !

This light is getting a lot less attention than it really deserves. People might not realize how great was the Twisty. It's miles away from a regular twisty light. In fact, it's a pure gem of technology. The twisty interface is just a controller for a very sophisticated led engine. Newer members or newly HDS interested users should really do some reading about that great light.

Thanks, I was lucky to get a Twisty from the market place. I've been looking for one for a long time and found it for sale a few months ago.

Re: Ra Twisty part 2

Much has been posted on the Twisty, but here are two threads to get folks reading if they have interest. Ra Twisty Pt. 1 is closed, but Pt. 2 is open for discussion. Perhaps a mod can move the few posts on the Twisty in this thread over to 2nd the linked thread so we can continue. As derfyled said, the Twisty is awesome and definitely neglected these days. :)

I have moved 40+ posts, that pertain to the Ra Twisty, from the current HDS Systems EDC # 16 thread.

Hello,

As a new RA Twisty owner I apologize if this question has been answered before but I would really like to know which grease people are using on their twistys.

I have read through this post http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?126645-Comprehensive-Grease-and-Lube-Thread but couldn't find any recommendations for the RA Twisty specific, and the preferances also seems to differ between individuals.

I have tried several different greases I found in my garage with the following result:
- Yezl Silicon grease: gets grey from the alu really fast, doesn't reduce the o-ring friction as much as I would like
- Dow Corning DC4 silicon compound: same as above, really no difference
- Lithium grease from local boat equipment seller: didn't get grey as fast, but didn't grease enough either, the threads got "sticky"
- Multipurpose grease from local hardware store: got grey from alu, but gave the smoothest feeling of the lot

In the thread above I see that both the nano-oil, krytox and superlube gets mostly good reviews, but all of them also gets some negative. I don't want to spend to much money on grease so therefor I would like some recommendations from people who actually have a RA Twisty. My biggest interest it the easiness of the twisting, but I would also like it to be as clean as possible. I don't care to much about it being petroleum free as the manual says this is ok for the o-rings since they are nitril.

Does anyone by chance know which grease Henry supplies in his o-ring bags?

Any help would be appreciated.

Who out there still thinks the twisty was one of Henry's best lights? Maybe if we start some talk about it hogo can start pestering Henry. 😊 imagine a 250 twisty!

Well that's a start. A full size twisty with pumped up lumens that we are capable of getting now would be sweet! Toughest light HDS has ever made and no switch to go bad. Hey HOGO...........🤔🤔
