    What the heck was that?!

That much old stone work here in the Pacific NW is unusual. An older local could probably give you and idea of what may have gone at the site. Personally, the train noise would ruin it for me, just get it cheap enough to turn it and see if you can stand it. Good luck.

Glad I had three lights on me the other night

Good story. After loaning, dropping or draining seven flashlights, it was by the light of a coleman lantern that myself and two friends walked out of an unnamed lava tube we thought "couldn't be that long."

Anyone else here find more lumens better, always?

Re: Anyone else here find more lummens better, always? Indoors I find that as I work with a light, my eyes adapt and I prefere a lower and lower light level eventually wanting only a few lumens. Outdoors if I need to really see details at leg length or longer the more warm light the better.

    New Flashlight Anxiety

As frustrating as checking tracking, wondering which limited number you scored, etc. is, after each package arrives it just seems like part of the fun.

Lumapower D-mini VX Ultra (SST-50) Review: RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOTS, and more!

Great review. I've been looking forward to this one since I received this light at Christmas. Nice to know how it really stacks up. I've used the light daily since, running an IMR 16340 and whenever I've checked the battery voltage, after the light appears only to offer medium level, I get...

    Got My Illuminati!

Matt, thanks for the "peripheral vision sensitivity" explanation. Also, after a few seconds of use, the mind seems to adapt and away goes the flicker. I'm only reminded of it when I first use the light that day (4 hours today).

    Fenix TK40 part 2

Re: Fenix TK40 part2 The lanyard thingy sounds like an old fashioned "string" holster. A great idea for keeping the bulk down on such a large light.
