    Have you ever felt invisible?

Wow, talk about an old thread getting dusted off. I started this 4-1/2 years ago. And let's see, my beard has cycled, on and off, four times since then. I am finally past the issue of whether people notice or not. I've found what works for me, let my hair get very long (for me), then buzz it...

    2010 Flashlight Collection Photo Thread

I finally built my "perfect" hotwired Minimag. Red body, Auroralite Hotwire kit, Carley 1499 bulb, and 2 AW 14500s, topped off by a jeweled crenelated bezel. Here's a look into the eye of the beast.

Leatherman Micra Sleeve fits Squirt, or 1xAA cell, or 2xAAA cells

Um, I don't see a Squirt sleeve at the Leatherman site or at store.leatherman.com. Do you have a model number for it? Yes, I saw those, very nice looking. I didn't need a velcro flap or keychain attachment, though.

Leatherman Micra Sleeve fits Squirt, or 1xAA cell, or 2xAAA cells

I was looking for a sleeve to fit a Leatherman Squirt P4. On the P4, with the exposed edge of the file on one side, it can really chew things up in a pocket. I found that Leatherman makes a sleeve for the Micra, I decided to see if it would fit the Squirt. The Micra sleeve does fit the Squirt...

Spyderco Calypso Jr / ZDP-189 steel / calling all experts

I am bumping this old thread because it has alot of information that helped me understand laminated ZDP-189 steel. I especially appreciated the discussion of "stong" versus "tough". I'm an engineer, I understand the technical definitions, but the discussion helped me get a "real world" feel...

    L0D CE + Chapstick = ???

Re: Capstick cap diffuser for 1xAAA lights I'm bumping up an old thread because it is a good idea and I have a story to tell. I was shopping at Target and I came across this: All I wanted was a three pack of regular chapstick, but this was the only thing I could find on the rack. And for the...

The CHARGATRON Vintage Battery Charger -- What batts charge with AC voltage??

Thanks everyone for the replies. It turns out there are a couple diodes in the charger, just located where I couldn't see them without opening the charger up. And I realized that my multimeter does have a diode test function :duh:, of course I had never used it before, but I was able to check...

The CHARGATRON Vintage Battery Charger -- What batts charge with AC voltage??

I do not think there are any diodes, burned out or otherwise, in the charger, but I would have to open it up to be sure. And I don't even own a soldering iron, so I couldn't fix it if that were the case anyway. Edit: Ictorana was right, there are diodes, see post #12. What I have discovered...

The CHARGATRON Vintage Battery Charger -- What batts charge with AC voltage??

Hmm, I hadn't thought about it, the same it true for me.

The CHARGATRON Vintage Battery Charger -- What batts charge with AC voltage??

My father was cleaning out his tool cabinet the other day. It's not a typical tool cabinet, it it actually a kitchen cabinet, underneath the oven. He has lived in the same house since 1965, so alot of stuff had accumulated in the cabinet. He came across a cardboard box, opened it up, and found...

    2012 Movie...

In the last month, I would load up my credit card to the max buying all the toys I want, knowing I will never have to pay for them.:naughty: In the last few minutes, I would go outside to watch it hit. Maybe I would first travel to a particular vantage point if I knew it would be a good place...

"Never before has a date in history been so significant to so many cultures, so many religions, scientists, and governments." Yeah, right. Ever heard of Y2K? Runners up include 1984 and 6-6-06. Never mind January 19, 2038.

    KPR112 bulb host ???

:welcome::grin2: I don't know what your budget is. The cheapest route to go is the 3AA/1D Battery Tray from KD. They are cheap, but effective, as long as you are running less than 1 amp through them (which you would for a KPR112). Note that some people have recived these from KD with parts...

    KPR112 bulb host ???

I am unsure why you are specifically looking to use a KPR112 bulb. As far as sockets go, that is a standard PR-base bulb, and will fit in any "regular" flashlight that uses a PR bulb. The KPR112 is designed for use with 5 C or D size alkaline batteries. But it can be overdriven at a higher...
