The Official Malkoff Junkie thread - Part 2

Never having used one, what is gained and lost by an angled light? I've seen photos of them clipped to webbing or a pack strap to be hands free but I use a headlamp for that.

    Best UV flashlight

What do you dislike about the Convoy lights? I have an S2+ UV that I use for scorpion hunting and it works quite well. I've not actually measured but a fairly accurate guesstimate is that it lights them up from at least 5 yards away.

Thanks for trying the McClicky test fit and photo. Dan

Responded, thank you. :) Everyone, it seems I just bought lightknot's last switch. It would be nice to have a backup. Dan

    Vital Gear -"Mild to Wild"

Does anyone have a source for new switches? I need one for my FB1. Forward or reverse clicky doesn't matter as long as it doesn't require modding to install and is reliable. Thanks, Dan

Malkoff Runtime Graphs - CR123/Alkaline Comparo

Re: Malkoff Runtime Graphs - CR123/Alkaline Shootout (Updating) Ah... I missed it. Thanks very much for that. You did the test I wanted as I don't have any 18500 cells. I'm quite surprised by the huge jump in output. As I understand it, Malkoff is usually conservative in their estimates but...

Malkoff Runtime Graphs - CR123/Alkaline Comparo

Re: Malkoff Runtime Graphs - CR123/Alkaline Shootout (Updating) Cool beans! I'm looking forward to the results. As for the M31 keep it until you've done everything you want. It's my laundry room light and I'm sure I can find a substitute around here somewhere. ;)

Right, increased capacity is a worthwhile tradeoff in sitiuations like the one you mentioned. However, what I couldn't find on the Panasonic website was info regarding current capabilities. In addition to higher capacity does the pro also have a higher amperage rating? If it does, then while a...

The Official Malkoff Junkie thread - Part 2

Your call as to which gets done first. Test each module with various batteries or test each battery with various modules?? The standard is an incredibly popular battery so having that data added to your database would be valuable. The above is a good point and I'd guess that for LL or LLL...

To test or buy? I have an M361N and M361 219B V2 that I can lend for testing. I can also send a host along with the modules if it would help. Dan

Malkoff Runtime Graphs - CR123/Alkaline Comparo

Re: Malkoff Runtime Graphs - Ongoing Adventure Ok, thanks for that. The same module with an Eneloop pro does quite well. Coincidently, earlier today I couldn't find a part on the Malkoff website and called them. Gene answered and we chatted a bit before he helped me with my order. He's a big...

Malkoff Runtime Graphs - CR123/Alkaline Comparo

Re: Malkoff Runtime Graphs - Ongoing Adventure Anyone have an idea about the wonky M31 219B above? All the M31 219B series on illumn have the following quote in their descriptions: "The input voltage is 0.8 to 3.3 volts. It requires 1.8v for full output. It is ideal for use with one CR123...

Malkoff Runtime Graphs - CR123/Alkaline Comparo

Re: Malkoff Runtime Graphs - Ongoing Adventure There's some great data in this thread and I think it's likely to help Malkoff's sales. INFRNL, thanks for being so generous with your time and resources to put it all together. May I request a test of an M61N (or M61 if a neutral variant is...
