    LED Streetlight study

I would be very curious to see how bad any of the LED lamps work in heavy fog compared to HPS. In the CA central valley the HPS lamps used to cut through the fog like a hot knife at times when my halogen headlights were totally useless. The LED's going in here in Silicon Valley seem to me like...

Does warmer light better penetrate fog?

You want to see a "glaring" :hahaha:example of this. In HEAVY valley fog in our CA central valley car headlights are practically useless. The insanely orange sodium street lamps cut through the fog like a hot knife through butter. They seem to be actively replacing sodium lamps now with LED of...

Technically it's a DC/DC power supply that works well as a charger. In a perfect world I would use a "charger" that has discharge and other charger smart features. But this is less useful in a battery pack. Especially since I don't know what smarts are built into the handle...

    Thrunite TN30vn50 Sale

I looked up the brick they provide and it would seem to be an 8.4 volt source that maxes out at 3 amps. The DC/DC regulator I got from Amazon has both voltage and current limit. I set 8.4 volts and 2.5amps and so far everybody seems happy. At some stages of charging it will be in current limit...

Would making lights generally more massive solve overheating and step-down issues?

I realize this is all consumer driven. But I tend to go the other way on this. Drive the LED('s) at the sweet spot where output has not reached the point where a large portion is getting lost as heat. They keep getting higher output every year. Having a very short turbo mode is just fine with...

Thrunite TN30vn35 - Budget Pop Can Thrower

Re: XXX - Budget Pop Can Thrower For the record, Vinh suggests using an inverter in the car to utilize the provided charging power supply. I am choosing to go the DC/DC route and go against his advice.

Thrunite TN30vn35 - Budget Pop Can Thrower

Re: XXX - Budget Pop Can Thrower What's worse, I want to standardize my flood and throw in the car on the BP-10 battery pack. So I will probably go TN40vn spec 1, which is $350. And with that I lose DriverVNX2 as well. I already have the TN30vn50. I'm especially fond of not having to deal with...

Thrunite TN40 (4xXP-L HI, rechargeable battery pack) Review: BEAMSHOTS and more!

A few battery comments... Apparently the BP-10 battery pack is 4 matched 18650's in 2S/2P arrangement. I asked Thrunite about a car charger and they said the BP-10 7.2V pack cannot be car charged. But this was a non-tech person responding as far as I could tell. The factory "charger" appears...

Thrunite TN30vn35 - Budget Pop Can Thrower

Re: XXX - Budget Pop Can Thrower Heads up, the TN30vn35 is now up on SkyLumen for $215. Unlike the vn50 though it doesn't have the BP-10 battery pack. FYI

I meant foreign matter, but now I learned some new words I never needed to know. Pervs  So the battery light is blue, but something could be keeping the battery pack from making contact with the head I suppose.

Does the battery charge indicator do anything? Any chance you have "smoog" somewhere so it's locked out?

Mine was waiting for me when I got back today from the weekend. First impressions: DAMN!!!, this is a lot of light for the dollar. Feels like top quality. Mine is a "5000K" and the color rendition is good. I wish the bezel was crenelated even just a little. Probably going to be hard to find a...

Olight x7 marauder vs thrunite tn36ut

Anybody see the thermal imagery of the x7 vs two other lights on YT? The X7 really seems to distribute heat well. Though I'm no expert on interpreting that stuff. It's pretty interesting to watch the lights heat up in turbo mode.

    Review: Manker MK34: 12 x Nichia 219B, 6500 lumens, 3 x INR18650;(beam)shots, compare

Re: Review: Manker MK34: 12 x Nichia 219B, 6500 lumens, 3 x INR18650;(beam)shots,... And I think it's always worth a mention in any review when a light uses cells in parallel, since it's the "safer" way to go with rechargeables. I wonder how much room there is with this one for Sky Lumen to...
