I use my Peak Eiger to check electrical wires on air handlers for hvac units. I also use it to check all the door locks and make my way to the fridge at night before bed.
I like the machine oil so far. I have a special lube for the o rings that I got from a plumbing supply store, the machine oil is light and easy to use with no odor. I use it on my EDC Eiger and also on my benchmade knives and it works very well on them.
My Eiger ss/narrow head is ok with an ultra fire. It doesn't ramp up smoothly but can be adjusted to close to where I want it. The light runs very smooth with lithiums but because it is half the voltage it gives off half the light. I don't mind the little twitch it gets while ramping up with...
Just made a cool discovery which may or may not work. Pensoil Dot 3 brake fluid has some really good lubricating properties. Here is some of the info. The last three points sound good for lights.

I was reading the comprehensive thread on grease and lube but didn't really see any thing about using sewing machine oil on the threads of a lite. Is it ok to do so? I have some on hand.
Used a led maglite xl50 to check possible head gasket leak on my wife's subaru. Car has 170 thousand on it and the maglite is perfect for under car work when I don't use a head lamp.

The Eiger i have is the qtc keychain body with momentary switch. The head is the narrow, I believe, cri 119. I ordered two ultrafires and charger from em-mgt. I hope they work out. Looking forward to trying them. I absolutely love this little light.
