10,000hr Streamlight TL-3 LED?

Is the claimed 10,000hrs accurate? Very nice if true but rather disappointing for us L4 owners with our limited but lovely 1000hr 5watters. OTOH, even daily L4 use will yield at least a couple of years, by which time new goodies will be tempting us.

Hmmm, I'll be talking to a buddy in the company soon to see if it is indeed. To my knowledge, the "fixed" portable 5W Luxeons are not out yet.

Interesting observation Brightnorm. How does a 5 watt driven at 9v last 10k hours while one driven at 6v last 1000 hours? I have the lights but I don't think I'll run the test. What resister are they using in the TL-3?
