Re: 18650/3400 Fitment Guide

Does anyone have any experience with the purple Efest 3100 mah High discharge battery? Illumination Supply puts them at 18.51 mm diameter. I know you said you bore to 18.65 but would these be super snug and possibly not fit? Or is that enough of a gap to where I shouldn't worry about it?

That sounds OK. But there are also ways to predict the size of a cell:

IMRs tend to be smaller than ICR, does high discharge mean IMR?
Protected tend to be larger, is it protected?
Cheaper protected ICR are the largest and have the most issues

I use that efest cell in my wasp moddolar light. Fits well without issues at all. It rattles a little bit even. By my estimate it's not as slim as the eagtac 3100 protected cell, but slimmer than the AW3400.

Also it would depend on which bored light you're referring to.

Hope that helps.

FYI:
Moddoolar bodies are bored to the exact size as our custom bodies.
The only exception is the bored E2, which is bored a bit smaller.

Yes they are IMR. I went ahead and ordered some. I'll let you know the results. Thanks for your response!

Re: 18650/3400 Fitment Guide

I recently purchased a 3500 LG MJ1 with a button top and it installed easily into my TL50 slim. However, when I removed the opened up my light for charging the battery I can no longer remove the battery. I have tried slight pressure from the positive end and tried gripping the exposed negative end but this only ended up removing some of the wrapper. Am I out of luck? Thanks.

Try putting the entire light into a cold, dry area for a time. It might make a difference and allow the battery to free up.

Thanks for the note, 3500 section added. Is this just the bare unprotected cell or does it have 3rd party treatment?

If RI's suggests don't work, you'll need to decide which is more important, the cell or the body. But swelling doesn't sound good, so I would consider the cell suspect and contact the vendor for options.

This is a bare cell I got from illumn. I haven't had any luck so far removing the cell and right now it's a question of how much force I'm comfortable with applying to the cell. Certainly the body is more important to me. I am in touch with the vendor now. Hopefully we can find a good resolution. Thanks for the input.

I fitted the ballast to the inside of the front bumper on each side. You would never know it had HIDs until they are turned on If anyone wants help fitting them or someone to fit them, please let me know. I would also be interested in helping out someone do a BF or any other 323 guide. I will do one for the H3 fitment when I get some fitted on my motor.
