A headlamp would be a better option, but if money is a problem, maybe try the small Moko LED clip on light for $16. It's designed for the 6-inches Kindle - very lightweight, short and broad upper clip to hold on the device without covering part of the screen. It fits with the Kindle 7, so it should also fit with the Sony PRS-300 because they have the same depth (0.4").

LOL I didn't realize the thread is so old. There was the Kindle Keyboard though - with the exact same depth!
