Sometimes yea don't have perfect conditions when traveling on foot with a pack. In this case there is snow, sleet and rain. Lots of slippery wet snow. Looking to cover ground fast and that means running. How to pull that off without breaking my neck at dusk.
The pack.
The lights. MD2 and AT Wizard XHP50.
Extra batteries because the prepper in me demands it.
The MicroSpikes.
Traction more aggressive than yaks.
The beaver dam is looking good. A section washed away a week ago before the temps really dropped. The busy beavers took care of business.
Getting darker.
and foggy.
Now really dark and spooky. Well it's dark anyways. Still running which is proving mildly harder than expected. If staying out I wouldn't be going this fast as it's easy to sweat up clothing. Cold and wet is bad news.
All done!
Traction and seeing in the dark helped. Then again that goes without saying.
7.6 Miles. Not the worlds longest jog but harder in the slushy snow. I didn't fall so that's good.
Victory coffee.
