FM: three questions:
1. do you think if frosting 1794 and 646XX bulbs would make their life considerably shorter due to uneven heating?
2. the 4V axial bulb, do you know of any currently available 1D host w/ 4 eneloop adapter? I just tried this bulb in your D26 module (had to bore it) with a single IMR and it provides soooo nice beam. Also do you have an idea how hard it could be overdriven?
3. are you able to alluminize the bulbs? I mean to deposit a thin layer of aluminum (or silver?) over the part of the bulb that you normally frost. The idea is that this would totally eliminate the flood part of the beam. I discussed this with lumens factory couple years ago, Mark was enthusiastic but it has never happened

Will the 1795 bulbs listed for sale fit in an e2e head with your E2 Fire body? I understand that due to some batch-to-batch variation, not all 1794 bulbs will fit.

FM please confirm that:
1. the 11V 2A bulb are axial
2. you can frost this bulb, and for $2 each

also what is the ESB bulb?

also have you ever tried an incand bulb in a light with a 2-stage tail, like L1/L2?

Yes, 11 volt, 2 Amp bulb is axial with G2 base.
2. you can frost this bulb, and for $2 each
Sorry, I don't do that at all.
what is the ESB bulb?
ESB is the brand name. This is aftermarket G4 bulb with specification close (but not exact same) of WA1111
have you ever tried an incand bulb in a light with a 2-stage tail, like L1/L2?
I don't have and never tried two stage tail.

I am referring to this exchange regarding frosting:

You can frost any bi pin bulb yourself or I will do it for $2 each.
Removing bulb from potted PR base may cause glass break.

So can I extract them if I want?
I don't know about your abilities but normally, this is not something that anybody can do. This is because of glue type of material used on cup of PR base which may break bulb glass when removing.

You can use ARMOUR ETCH for frosting a bulb but I don't want to involve with liability of short bulb life or bulb explosion because of frosting.
1499 which I am offering here was frosted and potted by Carley Lamp company.
Before buying ARMOUR ETCH, read about it's dangers and cares you need to do when working with it.
