I know this has probably been asked ad nauseum, but will AlTiN coating scratch off pretty easily if used as part of a keychain?

Does the chrome version come with Tritium too?

trying to decide between chrome vs ti bare vs AlTiN. Appreciate any insights. Thanks!

I have both, and have carried my AlTin on my keychain since I got it in June. The thing has no visible marks on it, and has in fact given a beating to my Kershaw Chive. AlTin is tough as nails.

Edit to agree with next post that the chrome models are very tough as well.

:welcome:
I have a pic earlier in the thread of my AlTin post #99
There are no marks from the keys after all this time -just a nick on the very front from dropping on the ground quite a few times.

I think even the chrome ones are very durable as well -you see 2nd hand ones come up for sale that look as good as new.

Cheers
Dom

Thanks for the replies and pictures.

I think i'll probably end up getting a chrome draco, since i'm actually kind of drawn to the look. My only worry was that it would not be as scratch resistant, but it sounds like that is not the case.

Now i'm just waiting for Jonathan to let me know what other tritium colors he has. I am hoping for white or blue instead of the standard green.

Draco Standard Chrome Package $182.29
Tritium & Installation (Blue, if possible?) $10.40
US Shipping $5.20

Thanks!

I never thought I'd spend this much $ on a flashlight, but from what I've read, its more than worth it.
Oh, and I think it may cure my DX flashlight addiction once and for all ;)

This light is great .Only problem is that my light only is working on 1 level.
It failed more than 1 year ago ,but i havent sent it back for repair. Its only working at level 4 or 5 I think.

Suggest you contact Modamag about it...I have found to be a very honorable guy.

So when tritium vials become available again, what should I use to mount the vial in my Draco? Is there some suitable adhesive available locally, or do I need to order something?

Thanks.

Got my standard chrome draco. It's smaller than even i had envisioned..just absolutely insane. My gf thinks it's crazy i spent that much on a flashlight, but now i know i'm just bidding my time before i place an order for the ti version. Haha. Great light.

Got my Drake today. This thing is absolutely incredible. Can't believe how bright it is and how tiny. Amazing!

I'm so jealous, Peter. But -- mine will be on the way soon.

Modamag:

:paypal:

Order #10101 Titanium Drake (I forgot to include this on the order, but I prefer BLUE tritium if possible). Sent $$ via CC via PP.

After owning a magnificent Chrome Draco for a couple of years now, how could I not get a Titanium Drake? I ask you - how? Answer - no way, so I ordered it.

And for you, modamag - Thank you.

Sorry if this has been discussed already, but I can't seem to find it....

Is there an option of a different/better emitter?
I've noticed "R2" mentioned a few times, but searching doesn't come up with any results for some reason.

Thanks!
