Re: FourSevens PreonVN - Subcompact Tactical R

Is this essentially the ToolVN replacement?

Regardless, how does it compare to the ToolVN?

Re: FourSevens PreonVN - Subcompact Tactical R

Is this essentially the ToolVN replacement? Yes and I am very happy for that as the ToolVN Cu was my best seller.

Regardless, how does it compare to the ToolVN? Even better. Classier and best build quality I have seen for these little lights. Price the same or cheaper than ToolVN CU too :)

Re: FourSevens PreonVN - Subcompact Tactical R

This is wicked! I got to fool with one if these thanks to GotLumens and it was stellar in its build, really really nice lights. I quite like the stock UI too, but this is nice to have for 10440 support! Have you put a white 1.1 in one yet?

Re: FourSevens PreonVN - Subcompact Tactical R

Nice, can it be driven any harder? (1k lumens) I never bought a ToolVN since I was always comfortable carrying 18650 sized lights, so I'd rather have a hot rod 1 size up from the ToolVN form factor.

Do W1.1 LEDs fit?

How does the beam pattern and reflector compare to the ToolVN? More narrow and focused? Wider and shorter? Same?

Does it hold as many copper heatsink pills as the ToolVN?

Can we (eventually, I know you're very very busy) get a side by side comparison of the ToolVN and this for reference, plus beam shots using the same XPL LED on a white wall?

Re: FourSevens PreonVN - Subcompact Tactical R

Link leads to Javelot Pro.

If W2 5400 turns out to be good I think it would be cool to have one in these.

Re: FourSevens PreonVN - Subcompact Tactical R

Great looking and performing little light!

Re: FourSevens PreonVN - Subcompact Tactical R

It's a real shame that the clip is not interchangeable or facing the other way. The ToolVN was a great makeshift ball cap headlamp light, and this one would be even better with the improved runtimes and heat management. Does anyone know of an opposite facing clip that would work well with this light?

Re: FourSevens PreonVN - Subcompact Tactical R

The clip from an Olight i3T works very well but the installation might leave some scuff marks since it goes around the body rather than being pinched between the body and the tail like the stock clip.

I once offered this cop that let me go with a warning a free light. I did after the fact so it wasn't a bribe.

Preon W2 release tonight with video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: FourSevens PreonVN - Subcompact Tactical R

Can't wait for the video!!! I gave my Goliath V2vn W1 away so I am definitely
in the market for a tiny EDC powerhouse! Albeit a very different kind (output vs throw)

Only thing is, boy I wish these came in brass!!

Many people say they like brass but brass lights doesn't sell well...This is why not many manufacture make lights in brass.

Re: FourSevens PreonVN - Subcompact Tactical R

  • W2 5400K Max Turn On 720L, 10Kcd, 200m
  • Surprisingly high output and 10Kcd is alot for a tiny OP reflector

I haven't watched the video just yet but you had stated before that you saw no difference between a W2 standard and W2 5400K. Does that still appear to be the case or have you done some further comparison?
