If you had $1,000 to spend on your flashlight hobby, how would you spend it? I'll start :naughty:

Thrunite TN31
Maelstrom X10 or MMU
Crelant 7G5V2
Jetbeam RRT-01
Balder HD-1
$200 on high end batteries
Send Solarforce M3 head (already have), Crelant, and Maelstrom to Vinh for his famous mods
Put my first trits on a few main lights

Of course, if another exotic coating run gets done, this all changes lol.

Jeez...
One of those new Aeons
A Sunwayman V11R, modded with Nichia 219 and a wide optic, and trits
Zebralight H502d
Maybe a DEFT EDC, just for giggles.
And that would be all I needed.
EDIT: and batteries, of course!

How I actually spent $1000 on flashlights:

Inova X5
Surefire E1L
Surefire T1A
Surefire U2
Surefire Z2L
Surefire UB3T
Surefire Hellfighter

If I did it again in the future I'd say an HDS Rotary to replace the E1L+T1A+U2.

I'm pretty sure that I passed the $1,000 dollar mark a while back.
If I had another $1,000 to spare it would be
On Surefires for sure and a few mods:

Surefire M2 strider
both of the Surefire SW01 switches and an SW02
Surefire C2 black HA Targus and Emerson knives
Cryos cooling bezel
One of the three XP-G P60 drop ins.
That list might be over $1,000 so I'll stop here.

Mac's Tri-EDC, Damascus, trits, High CRI emitters. Then send it away for a few driver tweaks, and all of the postage should be just about $1000.

1. SF Titan T1A for low level around the house use, and backup EDC.
2. Malkoff MD2 with your choice of dropin for general use.
3.Malkoff Wildcat for "what was that?" and the awesome general use lower level.
4.Haiku for EDC.
5.A few EO1's for keychain and backup use.

Or, spend it all on a 007... :) All kinds of wonderful choices out there these days...

If I had $1000, I'll try to build my own light. A CBT-90 @ 14A in a 4" reflector would be nice, powered by 4-6 rechargeable D cells, or maybe a XM-L direct to copper @ 6A would give more of a laser beam. Could also make a HID mod for even more throw... (you get the point).

Yeah, I'll spend it on parts and figure it out from there.

Yup, same. If i was given 1k to spend only on lights.
I've owned a 1000$+ light. While cool, it's nerveracking. I didn't want to touch it. And i didn't have a way to properly display it.
So i sold it.

I've got plenty of lights but have had trouble justifying the money for weapon lights. So I'd start with a streamlight TLR1 (unless somebody starts making a HCRI), then a scoutbody and VME/Malkoff to replace my G2. after that throw in about three more Malkoff drop-ins and one more VME head, maybe a hound dog and I'd be happy.

I think he was trying to help you. ;)

I think that he has stepped out of the Norm.
Note: Although I do understand that people are FURIOUS about NOT receiving their orders, I think people need a nicer advisory rather than a sarcastic one. -Empire-
