Newly Enlightened
I really like 9AN.
Twist R95 off the front of 9AN' body, you'll see a lot of room inside. So why don't make a LED drop-in?
My originally thought was to make a drop-in that won't protrude. After drawing and calculating I found that was not good. It had to protrude a few millimeters, that's all right, I'll use brass, just another style.
With an optical lens instead of a reflector, could shorten the length. Got some 4*xpg3 led assembly from a friend, saved me lots of time.
Just got the main body tonight, can't wait to assemble one for myself.
Glass and bezel ring are in common with Z44. Very good looking with a brass ring.
The O-ring from R95 or KT3 is also suitable for this drop-in.
There was a gap, about 0.5mm. I designed this because it was quite different between different 9AN bodies, this gap on another 9AN of mine was 1mm. Rather long than short. I used 360# sandpaper killed this gap in less than 1min.
Took out stuffs I need and began to work.
It was time to install the driver. The optical lens had 2 positioning pins, very easy to install. The latest 4*xpg3, terrific.
Customized flat rubber gasket. One under the glass, one above the glass.
Time to install the glass.
Job done. My wife's hand.
The driver was a custom-made LD29 made by Dongcheng. 3 levels, 50ma, 800ma, 3000ma, no memory. Luminous flux was about 1600lm, with 4 S6 XPG3. 2*18650, had a good run time and acceptable heating.
This is I have not installed the lens yet. . .
Filter is still usable.
Low-Medium-High.
Well, ended with my wife's hand...
Another wish achieved.
Ps, only made 10 in total, another 9 were already booked by friends.
