Xpl is the way to go me thinks
I agree but XPG2 is very nice for the money though

Doesn't the M43 have a thermal sensor? At one point does it cause the heat to level off?
Thanks for offering dedome XP-Gs Vinh.
About how much more runtime on turbo will the upgrades give this light before it has to be turned down due to heat? Upgrades is for better driver heat sinking. Does not extended turbo runtime.
Does it really make a big difference?
Are you getting any of the "white" versions (rather then dark grey)? Dark gray only for now.
Just to clarify, do you want payment with the preorder? Yes
Hope your god grandfather is ok!!! He is hanging on be the threads...
i guess theres no way around the +$100 for xpl pdtc as there are 12 Leds. Forgot about that. thats $370 with that and with driver vn. Could you just get the xpl version and have a stock xpl dedome option? That would be a killer light in that combo
Vinh,
If these are available I will take one with FREE Factory XPG2 Dedome.
Dang the XPG2 dedomes go fast haha. Guess I better get my order in while I can.
$180 XPG2 6500K Shipped USA I really want white. Is this a possibility? Can't get white at the moment.
+ FREE Factory XPG2 Dedome I'm considering splurging for the XPG2 PDTc, as 5000k is the lowest tint I'll use. Any idea what, approximately,
PDTc tint would be? XPG2 PDTc usually look about 5000-6000K to me. Can't remember what it looks like though optics.
I find I like 5700-6300k tint best which XPG2 dome on does, but I want the extra throw.
+ $5 "V54" hand engraved Please engrave on tail cap above "Noctigon."
= $185
How is your god father? He is OK at the moment
Guys, any thoughts on the numbers with XPL dedomes? The XPG2 dedome results are very nice, but crazy as it sounds I kind of want more lumens.
To my eyes XPL Dedome looks brighter than XPG2 dome on! Throw are freaking close. I belive there was a chart with all the LEDs tested...anyone seen those?
this is from intl outdoors site
Led & Tint OTF Lumens Peak Beam Intensity Kelvin
CW S4 2B 7480lm 33,600cd 5700K
NW S2 1D D-D* 6400lm 70,000cd 5000K
NW S3 3D 7060lm 32,000cd 4885K
NW 219BT-V1 90CRI Min 4450lm 20,000cd 5000K
NW XP-L D-D* 8540lm 44,000cd 4440K
doubtful... same current, just less lumen... im still on the fence about owning one of these puppies (my review sample is a passaround from BLF, so its going to someone else next for some photos etc)... if I do buy one it will be a 219b version though. - tint snob!
I can't decide either. And even though I'm a tint snob and love the Nichia 219, I'm leaning towards the 3D tint. It's really nice, at least on my XP-L light, and a lot more lumens to make the CRI sacrifice worthwhile IMO.

I HAD the TN36[stock] and sent it back to illumns primarily because of the heat. It was even too hot on high after 12 minutes or so w/ 36F TEMP.!
I am sure the TN36vn would generate more heat than stock. Justin says that STOCK M43 is even hotter than TN36vn!
These lights are becoming so SMALL, BRIGHT, POWERFUL and generate Extreme amounts of heat. In my mind and For me they are "WOW" lights and are NOT practical unless you like Low and medium and use max for 30/45 second bursts!
Thanks for those links. XPG2 not as nice as I expected; could be the camera. Nichia looks amazing as usual!
