Hard to believe but I've had this 3xAA FiveMega body for 15 years. Haven't used it all that much. It first hosted a M60LL, then M61LL and now M61LLL 219B (and lots of other modules in between). Yes it will run M61 although not at full power.
It will run anything in that combo. I discovered I had a stash of 'heavy duty' junk cells and it fires on these. Granted the lumens are not impressive. Maybe 10. But we are talking old heavy duty (not alkaline) AAs. Alkalines do better. Lithium L91s will do better still. Best: Rechargeable Li-Ion, the 3.0V ones. They will work nicely with the upper limit of 9V M61LLL entails.
