Malkoff Picture Thread

I've tried it before, not an o ring, but a flat round piece of rubber in a reylight switch. Made it feel more firm, and in turn made switch a little more responsive

I would think adding an o ring that the center goes around the plastic McClicky post under the boot would make the switch feel more firm, but same amount of travel. If you would place a solid round piece of rubber inside the boot that would go on top of the plastic post it would decrease travel and also make the switch feel firm

I just know the mclicky boots are just made of different rubber so it either feels very hard or very soft

I do however agree that the actual spring tension or thickness of the spring would be the best solution regarding pressure

The switch on MDC lights is plenty firm to me already. I can easily activate a half press but for full press it takes some effort, and frankly I'm fine with that. I prefer the extra travel required on a tactical style flashlight. Easier morse code that way.

The boot on my Lumens Factory Seraph though....way to stiff for my liking. My concern with the MDC boot (and other brands) is eventually tearing a hole in the boot from a fingernail cutting into it over time from finger tip pressing.

Not sure what to call it.
It's a 1x CR123 MDC body with a VME head, and one of twenty two M361W (3000k) Nichia 219c's from a 'webadmin' (mindabew) group buy a few years back.

Powered by an RCR gives it plenty of pep. A double A Maglite ultra clear glass lens, a custom bent clip, wrist strap, and rubber o'ring for added grip round out the extras.

The M361w 219c numbers.
The sticky note was Gene's notes while building the drop in modules.

Cool unit! BTW, I happen to have some nice 219Cs @4000K in a couple of lights and like them, so if you're good w/3000K, you'll probably like this too. Just used one to take out the trash a few minutes ago.
I have an E with a Tana module using a 219c that if I recall correct is a 4200k. I prefer the slightly 'golden' tone of the C versus a slight pink from the B. Later I tried a module he built with a 3200k C and really like that one as well. So when member 'mindabew' did the 3000k M361w Nichia 219c group buy I felt confident it would be a gem. If I recall correct he got the LED's from ' mountain electronics', sent them to Gene Malkoff who assembled them.

The group buy thread.
Later a batch of 219B's was also built.

I figure you all Malkoff hard users would appreciate this pic the most.

The one and only Malkoff MDC being held up by just some blue arches. Not pictured: Happy Meal with chocolate milk
