I just got the Pelican PM6 3330 Led from, Action Lights, http://www.action-lights.com/flashl...-knight-series/pelican-m6-3330-led.asp?bhcp=1

I Watt Luxeon, Xenoy Polymer, uses 2 CR123A Batteries, and momentary on (regular clickie).

Can this light be run on rechargables, or only on primaries?

I was comparing the Fenix P1 with the PM6. The beams look pretty close in throw. The PM6 looks like it edges out the P1. I am going to recharge my RCR123 for the P1 and post some pics. The PM6 is using 2 CR123's.

With a freshly recharged RCR123 the P1 edges out the Pelican PM6 (uses 2 CR123's Primaries). The PM6 has a 1 watt Luxeon and the Fenix a 3 Watt Luxeon.

I had my module changed out because I wasn't happy with the tint. The tint was a cream green. I was sent 3 modules to choose from.

This is what the beam looked like before I changed the module. The beam looks greener than it actually was.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

The Hunt Light FT-01 barely edges out the Pelican PM6 3330 in throw.

The FT-01 is using 18650's batteries. The Pelican is using CR123A primaries.

The FT-01 is the first generation, lower output model using a 3 Watt Luxeon.

The Pelican is using a "hand picked" 1 Watt Luxeon.

I like the Pelican because I was able choose my Led Module so naturally it has a tint I like. You aren't afraid to abuse the Pelican because it is made of Xenoy. No hard anodize to wear off.

Smaller in size compared to the FT-01 and lighter.

Thanks Ernsanada for the beamshots!! It appears that the 17670 produces less light, but should have a flatter discharge curve. What do you think?

I'm not sure. I am not set up to measure battery discharge.

if the pm6 3330 is buck, i don't think there will be any change to the discharge curve.

like the pm6 2390 (which has a buck driver), using 2x cr123, the regulation is straight for a few hours then slowly dims off for the last 30? mins

i think it also rely on the Vf of the luxeon and the Voltage the driver is meant to send to the led.(if it is 3.6V, there is for sure be no change to the RT curve other then a little longer for 17670 as it has more mah)

Nice review. Could you please tell me how the clip is attached to the light? And do you think it's a sturdy attachment.

I have one and can use a Pila 600s cell. I also have the Huntlight FT-01.
My Huntlight FT-01 is a little brighter and may throw a little bit farther.
For me I can say I like the tint of the Pelican I have over the drop in LED's from BOG and Lighthound. I have 1 from each and was happy with them in a G2 and a G2Z. My PM6 3330 is brighter than both of the drop ins--that might be a fluke I just know how mine "seem" to me.
I do not like the grip/feel of the PM6 3330; it looks nice but in my hand it "feels" like it is tapered down and wanting to slide out of my hand.
It has not slipped it just "feels" like it might.
I am not unhappy with it at all but I do not plan on using it as an EDC light.
