Protected 16340s for M6 MB20

They don't make what exactly we want but this looks like smaller M6
For use unmodified M6 body you can use pair of 26350 batteries with shorter run time and limited current draw.

Since I like copper / brass / titanium flashlights, gold-plated 2x26500 strongly attracts me, though I can't afford it...

As the seller started selling Keeppower RCR123AR which bears 5A current though it is protected, I have ordered 6. I think I can try M6/IMR-M6 and M2/IMR-9 with the batteries within a week.
Look forward to hearing it. I have some other 2.5A 16340s on the way, but only 2. So I will at least be able to see if they fit or not

I will report the result here. Also, I'm interested in Vapcell INR16340 T6 (6A CDR) and T8 (3A CDR). If Keeppower RCR123AR doesn't fit M6, I may get and try Vapcell.

The T6 were the ones I was looking at. It's just that this light gets so little use that I have no issues just running primaries in it. So I have not been willing to buy cells yet

Speaking of Keeppower, I've noted that they release new cells with unusually high frequency, and are very popular amongst the CPF gang. My only question is why availability is so extremely limited in the U.S. I pulled up their global distributor map, and it shows but one red dot in the U.S. (who is very near my old Zip Code, and from whom I have ordered once in the past).

My question is simply: Why does it appear that none of the long established, well known U.S. cell / battery specialty suppliers (apparently) sell them? Does anyone have a theory?

I got Keeppower RCR123AR (5A CDR) and test it with Surefire M6 and M2.

As a result, it was successful.

I don't have caliper so I cannot measure the battery size, but RCR123AR seems a bit smaller than Efest IMR 16340 (picture 1, 2). In fact, putting in and taking out RCR123AR in MB20 battery holder is smoother than Efest. Inserting MB20 into M6 is also smooth (picture 3). Lumens Factory's IMR-M6 works with this configuration (picture 4).

M2 and IMR-9 is okay with 2 x RCR123AR (picture 5).

With Keeppower RCR123AR, I can enjoy Surefire M2 and M6 with both of incandescent and LED bulbs for the time being.

I have purchased batteries from Illmn.com in U.S., but I don't know others. In Japan, there is a seller (maybe self-employed small company) who deals with Keeppower's batteries, and the shop is the only reliable Keeppower reseller in Japan, I think. Their line-up is good, so as to Keeppower, I can get 14500, 16340, 18350, 18650, and 21700 steadily here. On the other hand, It is difficult to buy Molicel, Samsung, LG, etc.. I haven't seen even Sony and Panasonic. Li-ion battery market may be too niche for big dealers.

Ouch!! Yep that's why they went to glass.
I'm…..very upset. Lol. I've maybe gotten 20 minutes of use. And that's a really rare head. Not that I ever intended on selling it, but it's definitely worth a lot less now. Guess I'm buying a lumens factory head. I contacted surefire, but I bet they've long run out of parts to repair that

Will your M6 be like this one?
