There is a similar post a few down that is outside the US so I posted a new one for the difference in US options.

I'm looking for a red light with throw to use walking into my hunt stand in the morning.

Right now I am using a BD Spot 350 and am completely happy with the white light but the red lights barely light up my boots. I'd like something that doesn't focus on the red as a reading light.

I looked at Zebra but even their lights seemed super floody with little throw.

Is there anything out there? I'd even take a small handheld I could clip to a band or hat.

Petzl Tactikka 350+RGB, the red throws about 10ft.
I don't own BD for comparison, but was thinking of getting a new Storm 450 (it has RGB) with power pack.

If you want the ultimate headlamp with decent red light, I recommend checking out these options from skylumen. You'll just have to email Vinh to let him know what you're looking to do with the headlamp. https://skylumen.com/collections/v54-lights/products/acebeam-h30vn-best-single-21700-headlamp-r

Good luck with your decision 👍

I ended up with the Sofirn D25LR and I think it's going to be the answer. I haven't gotten it in the woods yet but testing in the back yard is impressive.

The all black picture is the BD Spot 350 with the red lights on. The red picture is the Sofirn.

Not too many red headlamps with throw, outside of the ones already mentioned in this thread.

Headlamps generally do not throw far. For that you might want to get a flashlights, acebeam e10 comes in red and is throws quite far. and it's pretty small.
