Some U2A questions for 2012...

I read through a bunch of old threads, but couldn't really find a good answer-

I have a U2A on an older U2 body, so it accepts 18mm batteries with no problem.

Can I use 2x18350, 2x16340, etc., or will they cause damage to the light?

Though I am pretty happy with the current output, the itch is always there- What LED can be swapped into this light for a reasonable price, and without too much trouble? Something brighter, warmer, with the same or better throw. And who can I contact to do it?
