Does anybody know if these fit surefires I'm getting a G2X LE and I used to use the older keeppowers. I like these new ones because of the usb on them but they are a little longer then the original keep powers.

I've had different G2x's, some had nothing on the "+" side, some had a small spring. On the side of the tailswitch, in different versions there were also different springs in terms of their stiffness. The only way to find out is to take a piece of wood/plastic, cut a 71mm cylinder and see how it closes in your particular lantern.

I have the G2X LE and it has internal springs at both ends, the standard 2 x CR123's are 68mm in length which is the same as a protected Keeppower 16650, I can't tell if there is an additional 2mm of wiggle room to accept the USB version.

It probably won't help the spring's durability, when going to primaries as necessary, but 2mm doesn't sound like too much. It would be interesting to know if the newer versions are using springs again, because circuit board contacts are just a joke for serious use, especially at premium prices.
