A week of 85mm cigs went well. Better than expected actually. On Monday I was puff, puff, puffing on 3 vapers to the point I had to recharge all three that night. Each one usually lasts 3-5 days between charges and this was 3, not just 1.

Can't keep doing that. By yesterday I was down to using all three but much much less while not smoking more. Sticking with mainly the tobacco flavored juice and switching to something tastey from time to time seems to be a good combo. And not relying on one distinctive device is also making sure if something breaks the backup is not a cigarette.

Thanx AT. So far so good.

I feel better too. Also the morning cough has gone from something to be heard three doors down to a mild one already. Another strange change I had forgotten happed last time I vaped to reduce smoking was cravings for junk food or fast food was replaced with cravings for more healthy foods.
Win-win.

Congrats on your lifestyle change Mr Turf. (Jeff Katz voice) High fives all around.

Last evening Mrs Fixer wanted pizza for supper. Usually I have fries with that. I had (unsweetened) apple sauce instead. Not because it's better for you, but because I wanted unsweetened apple sauce.

Used to be I'd swear phillip morris had managed to make 12 cigarettes look like 20. No way I'd smoked 20 that fast. Now it's as if they multiply in the pack. I should be out by now because it's 5pm but there's still 5 in the pack.

Now regarding the vape juice volume, my consumption has definitely increased. Not some crazy amount. The devices I use are sippers. But they need charging and refilling more then they used to in the past. Trouble is I'm using 2 year old gear. In the vape world it's like trying to find blank VHS tapes when time for new parts.

Ouch, based on what you wrote. I went to my favorite Vape Stuff supplier (Creme De Vape) , and...

Discovered an ample supply of parts for my tanks, and...

My favorite Mod Manufacturer (DiCoDes) has new stuff out.

Cry not for me, but for my wallet...

LOLz, Jim

Probably tired batteries mr fixer, thats another issue for me with built in. They have a life span, even though anything past 6 months is a bonus! with many mods. Especially the smaller pod types, only a small battery to start with. Time maybe to go dual 18650.......The geekvape 21700 is a good compromise, not too chunky and lasts a decent vape time.

Well done, your winning:cool:

It's more of a use thing Ven. See, like with flashlights 2 is 1 so 12 is 6, right? I had a stockpile of nip devices. I used a Vladin RE (juul like stick) and a Renova Zero the most last time. After sitting around a year or so the juice leaked out and tweaked them. Try as I may neither became working again so I cracked open new ones. But I could not find the replacement pods I had stashed. Go online and discover both have been discontinued.

One nice thing about vaping tobacco flavor is when your wick starts muting flavor, well tobacco aint got much flavor anyway so you can vape the same pod until the day it quits firing. Companies reccomend tossing them after 3 refills "for best flavor". But they will fire up to 20 refills. So to me it's kinda like toasting slightly stale bread.

One lesson I learned from flashlights is there are fakes all over the internet. Turn to my favorite sites and find they have lots of new old stock at discount prices. Read reviews and discover lots of duds are sold there. Like 7 out of 12 were bad right out of the box? Vaporesso has good QC so I equate half price parts means likely fakes. Like the SureFire G2x Pro, the Renova Zero was very popular so it was a given that low quality fakes would show up. I found some legit parts for it from a friend in Oklahoma USA.

The recharge rate is simply from using them a lot more.

As this week wore on there were successes. No set backs, which to me means success.
I spoke with vapers about how they made the switch. Every single one said they did it mid pack or had a new pack they didn't open. They all reccomended not to use tobacco flavor also. "But, but, but" I responded.

Perhaps they're right but for now when I want a cigarette the tobacco flavor vape juice solves the issue. My choice of tobacco has a very slight maple syrup flavor so it's pretty obvious it aint a nasty old tobacco stick. When I get to the point of a puff here and a puff there per hour the grape or sour apple will probably be the way to go. But for now it isn't a puff here and a puff there. So I will take a few drags from a tobacco flavor then top it off with something yummy for a pleasent after taste.

They all said there's no magic transformation where one minute you smoke, the next minute the cravings just "poof"……gone. I knew that from prior efforts. But now I get half-way through a cigarette and think "blecth this thing is nasty". The change this week was to smoke a lot less and not vape as much.

Its a tough one, what works for one, might not for another. But in past i always recommend against tobacco flavours, to make that change. Otherwise every vape your reminded of a cig, the cravings stay as i found out early on. Then changed to flavours and it became easier.Been on the same flavour for years now, heisenberg , not too anything and just works for me. Have made quite a bit of the juice for others to, over the months/years.

I keep 3 little tootle puffers handy.

4829-B6-C4-78-B1-41-DD-880-E-565-DF3-B1-E4-C5.jpg

L to R:
- Renova Zero set at 10 watts with Charlies Chalk Dust fuji apple with a hint of strawberry and nectarine. 0.6 strength.

- Vladdin RE (11 watts) with Black Note Virginia tobbaco (that has just a hint of maple syrup). 1.2 strength

- Vladdin RE with Avail Pandoras Box sour grape/ sweet grape. 0.6 strength.

A backup device is a Vaporesso Target Mini II prototype using Burst Sherburst tangerine, orange, sprite, vanilla ice cream in an 0.3 strength for light weight direct lung hits. It's a super nice little mod Vaporesso asked me to review before they released it.

Went to the ER today for a weird heartbeat. I'm fine but my meds need adjusting. Anyway the lady checking vitals asked if I smoke. I said I vape. Good gosh, it was like I was saying I'm a child killing mass murder. "You know those things explode", "you know those things are 10 times worse than smoking"……I said "says who?" the other lady in the room quips "SCIENCE" all pissed off-like. I laughed and said "well I can breath better and I aint inhaling carbon monoxide anymore". She says "smoking is better for you, because it does not contain all those toxins". Mrs Fixer blurted out "oh Lord, she went there". lol. I said "wtf global warming is going to kill us in 8 years so who cares"……not that I believe that but I knew "science" lady was about to stick me with a needle to draw blood so I figured it be best to be on good terms before hand.

I started out the day feeling woozy so thinking perhaps my sugar was low I checked it and my meter said 313. Yikes. So google said call the doctor. I went to a dox in a box who said my sugar was fine but I may be having a heart attack go to an ER. So I did. The ER said I was suffering dehydration illness. Go home and drink water then go see your doctor to get your heart meds adjusted.

I have what my heart doctor called "an extra beat" and put me on a pill for it. It was back today. And when I went back to the heart doctor for a follow up back when he high fived me for choosing vaping over smoking. He said a lung doctor might not agree but for the heart vaping is way better than smoking. I'll try to see him asap and say "well I went back to smoking there for a while but now I'm nearly stopped but vaping again".

Lessons learned today: 1) Keep check on expiration dates of glucose checking strips. Mine were expired and new ones agreed with the dox in a box and the ER. 2) Some nurses think smoking is better than vaping. If she is about to draw blood don't argue with her/him. 3) Drink more liquids. I kinda thought it may have been dehydration (again) but it kept getting worse despite drinking liquids. I think it's an onset of insulin resistance that once plagued me because I urinate way more than I take in before noon time everyday. 4) When a doctor says you are on the verge of Type 2 but later says "nope, false alarm" keep checking anyway. At least at times.

So today was a big set back due to nerves but tomorrow is another day and my smoking total this week (before today) was less than half of what it had been. And I was vaping a lot less too.

Black Note is having a 2 for 1 sale until December 8th.
They are selling juice in 60ml plastic bottles for just a bit more than the previous 30ml glass. And if you type in Free60ml at checkout they toss in a bottle of your choice. I placed a 6mg and a 12mg bottle in the cart, typed in the code and got charged for one bottle, plus $0 USPS priority shipping.

Hope your OK mr fixer, at least your under a specialist.

That is worrying also, a doc who thinks smoking is better for you with 5000+ chemicals, over 3000 of which can cause cancer. Yet a vape has 5 ingredients or so, none related or cancer causing. I do wonder where they make this decision from, or even if they know whats in vape juice, like VG and PG, both found in many foods preservatives, cough medicine etc to. Although vape wise, your not actually eating it!..........well hopefully not lol. There might be some not so safe fluids out there, some dodgy cheap stuff. But making your own, you know what goes into them as your putting it in!.

I have fact and proof from my annual medicals that Vape is better than smoking. As i have lung capacity tests due to my work. As with age, everything starts to go backwards, hearing, and lung capacity along with many others. My lung capacity over the years has increased, instead of decreasing. Not magic by any means, but its allowed my lungs to recover. Yes maybe they would be better still if did not vape at all, i dont know. But i do know that vape is no where near as bad as smoking.

Anyway hope for a speedy fix mr fixer and the meds work out. Hope you and family are good, festive greetings to you all.

Ven, the two were the folks who jot down why you are at the emergency room and run checks on blood pressure and other vitals. Triage?
Anyway both are dedicated professionals who seemed to be trying to look out for my well being. Unfortunately they also believe what they see on tv without studying the underlying fact or fiction aspect of an ad campaign by American political donors to keep the tax revenue flowing in from tobacco products. They love, love, love all that cash incoming from addicted citizens. It's why so many politicians are jumping on board with legalizing Mari-hoochee now. Ca$h to pay for all the free stuff to ensure citizens vote for them at the next election.
It didn't help that all those stoners got sick from vaping discount priced loads of bad vape juice in 2019. That and a campaign to scare the youth away from taking up vaping.
Politics American style Ven.

Anyway, I was bothered with memory loss and some confusion that was not getting better. Growing up means growing old so like an old car parts begin to need adjustment. The term "blood volume" seems to be the issue. Dehydration is another word. My blood volume gets below optimal at times and we just have to figure out why and how to combat it. It's beyond simply drinking more water. At times my body eliminates liquid at an accelarated rate. That seems to be an excess glucose thing being eliminated since this thing called insulin restistance has crept back in during the second half of 2020.

I sat in an office for nearly 2 years doing records keeping and my body got used to that. And it also meant I put back on the 20 pounds I shook off in 018/019. Now work requires more activity, which my "system" is now getting used to. The brain calls for more energy than it used to but my old beat up pancreas at times creates more than my body needs at times and it does not absorb glucose as efficiently as it should, hence the term insulin restistance. It's a type 2 diabetes in the making. The extra fat stored up along with other factors is revealing that the "good life" has consequences.

Vaping instead of smoking allows me to feel better, which in turn causes my brain to tell my body to move around more, which requires more energy to feed the muscles that carry my over weight body around more. Thereby requiring organs to work like they used to and they are in protest mode right now. In 018 my doctor said I'd be a mess for up to a year back when I was doing a lifestyle change for the better. About the time it got all back in sync I went back to some old bad habits with diet. Some was pandemic related where certain foods I bought were not available so I switched to less than ideal. Swiss chards for example. Super duper rabbitt food for diabetes elimination in small amounts was replaced with less preventive veggies and since I'm a meat and potato's type I did not eat the required extra amounts of the alternatives like spinach. My job did not require miles a day of walking, bending, stretching etc as a daily routine for a while either. I had a super nice office chair that could roll back and forth across a carpeted floor so why walk when you can just launch across the room while twirling around in the chair. Cheap thrills in an office chair relieved boredom inside a climate controlled room versus walking laps around a parking lot in cold or hot temperatures. Sloth is an easy thing to get used to.

I chose VA tobacco astro. Looking at reviews at Black Note it seems the other non menthol flavors are either cigar or pipe tobacco in nature. Pleasant to smell but not something my taste buds prefer. The VA tobacco is an almost flavorless juice with a very mild molasses after taste. It's not cigarette flavor in the burnt aspect but more of an unlit cigarette if you've ever puffed on one without lighting it. Other tobacco flavored brands I've tried have an uncure flavor about them. As if the maker extracts flavenoids from uncured tobacco where Black Note uses tobacco that was prepared and ready to be rolled into cigarettes. I still have a supply from when Virginia Tobacco was called Prelude but it reached it's expiration date so the batch on the way will be nice and fresh.

They use a 50/50 blend of VG/PG Ven, so it "burns" easily. Light weight drags produce a nice amount of vape so I end up inhaling smaller amounts versus larger volume drags required from my other 80/20 VG/PG juices. Less vape inhaled aint a bad thing. So perhaps if those ladies understood the details of vaping's potential instead of lumping all vaping into the category of days gone by when yes juices had some bad stuff in them maybe they would not be so quick to say "you know vaping is 10x worse than smoking" and just leave their opinion one way or another out of a conversation.
