I have flown back and forth from Australia to the US at least 35 times in the last 8 years, as well as domestically in the US on those trips. I have NEVER had any problems with my lights or batteries on carry-ons. Occasionally I get a "nice torch" comment in Australia

Rayus C01 1AAA 1x219
L3 L10 1AA 1x219
SL Stylus Pro 2AAA 1xXPE
SolarF L2P 2xCR123A 3x219 [EDCPlus]
SolarF L2P 1x18650 1xXPL [Sportac]
SureF A2-RD 2xCR123A
SureF L4(Mod) 2xCR123A 1xMCE
SureF M3 3xCR123A 1xP7 [Seraph]
Fenix CL05 1xAAA
Fenix E05 1xAAA 1xXPE

2x Eagletac 18650s
8x Streamlight CR123As
4x Energizer Lithium AAAs

Flew from Orlando, FL. to JFK, NY. to Taoyuen, Taiwan. Back to JFK, NY. Next day flew out of LGA, NY. back to Orlando, FL. No problems to report. They were more preoccupied by my camera gear than the lights.

Flew from Toronto to Trinidad and Tobago last week. Had 3 lights -- SkyLumen2 (1x18650), Nitecore EC4S (2x18650), and TN36UTvn (4x18650) -- in my carry-on, and no issues going through security at Toronto's Pearson airport.

Also flew from Trinidad over to Tobago for a sidetrip, and back again, and no issues going through both islands' airport's security either with the 3 lights in carry-on.

I'm glad this thread did not turn into a TSA bashing exercise and has very much stayed on topic.

That being said ...
Airports are not the only places for security checks.

been carrying a SF P1R, SF Minimus headlamp and a G2 Makoff - so far no glitches on domestic flights.

Just wanted to respond: after many trips with my trusty little single 18650 cell dualLED (white and UV) flashlight, some @&*#%*%# at Jordan's Queen Alia airport confiscated my battery (not the flashlight itself), alluding to some regulation that flashlights are not allowed to be *used* on board of a plane...

I doublechecked the IATA regulations again, but they still don't mention that anywhere... Also wonder what that means for my iPhone which can also function as a flashlight, but I didn't want to give them any weird ideas!
