Hi,

I need some help to choose an appropriate reflector for a DIY dive light.
I decided to use an xhp 70 led. And I would like to have narrow beam, around 6-8 degrees.
I know that xhp 70 is quite big and I need narrow beam, so I will need bigger reflectors.
But I don't really want to use a reflector, which has bigger diameter than 45 mm.
I have already found this type: http://www.kaidomain.com/p/S025411.64_5mm-D-x-63_5mm-H-OP-Aluminum-Reflector-for-SST-90
Unfortunately it is too big. But op might help to elliminate the black cross of xhp 70.

I have also tried a 40mm aspherical lens, it produce a narrow beam, but when the beam angle is acceptable, the chip pattern becomes visible on the projected spot.

I found a dive light which use an xhp 70 and has narrow beam: http://www.underwaveelectrics.fi/fi...a-diving-light-bend-4000-(32w-xhp70-led).html
I'm looking for something like that.

Is there any rule of thumb how I can calculate the beam angle according to the reflector an led main dimensions?
Manufacturers usually publish diameter, height and emitter hole diameter.

I would really appreciate any advice and experiences regarding to xhp70 and reflector combinations.
