The NA is the 519a 4500k emitter.
oh, oops.. ok.. ;-)

I have some 519a 4500K pics but not in HDS.. does this help?:

Here is an HDS w sw45k for reference (the Tint DUV values are from the same Opple 3):

basically, the 519a 4500K tends to have Tint above the BBL, while sw45k has tint below the line. The 519a is also larger, and makes a wider hotspot.

They just opened Advanced EMT in AZ. I figured I wasn't working enough and had a few spare hours of free time each month so... I doubt I will ever go to Paramedic as it just doesn't fit with my "prepper" mentality. Most of what we can do as an Advanced EMT here is what we are already doing as EMTs anyway as our medical control is big on giving us the tools and training for working in the sticks where a hospital can be an hour away by boo boo bus, and a trauma center 45 minutes away... by chopper.
I tend to prefer the training and skills where you are not getting to go to a hospital... and most paramedic stuff, if you are not going to get to a hospital, you are most likely not going to make it. Too many hours of training for that that I just don't have the desire to do right now. Top the HDS stuff on top of it and it is just too much for an old fart.
I'm actually at quarters right now on a 96 hour shift. Just got back from an MVA on I-10. I'll get off work Thursday morning at 0800, go to school from 0900-1700 Thursday, then go to HDS on Friday, then back at work on Saturday for a 48 hour shift finishing up on Monday at 0800, then back in class Monday morning... shall I go on? LOL! Only two weeks of class left thank goodness. Oh, and I work 100 miles from home, so there is that commute too.

You Dah Man, my friend! .... (y)(y)

I have a dead nova spl120...i plan on gutting it for a triple.
If you do this, please post the process, as I also have a sp120 that I'm interested in attempting to try to spruce up a bit
The holster was made by this guy >> Hogokansatsukan
his brand is the sign of Thor
About the next batch, there are few people interested so far, so it no sense to start doing all this + a lot of money went into creating knives that haven't been sold yet
Darn! best of luck with the knife sales.

I currently own an HDS LE Clicky with an XP-G2 LED, and I’m thinking about ordering a Rotary model with a 519A. However, I’m stuck deciding between 4500K and 5000K, and I can’t seem to move forward.

I’d really appreciate any advice or a little push to help me decide.

NA50 is now added to the list of LED options. 519a 5000k

Also a different type of checkout style

Got a notification for a post by @Hogokansatsukan on FB that a few (three) NA50 emitters were found on a shelf at HDS. So that emitter option would be for a very limited time (I'm guessing).

To my eyes, the 4500K is a nice neutral, but 5000K is too cool; especially for after sunset and night time activities. My preference for domed 519As is 3500-4000K; so it's very subjective.

Thank you. I think I’ll go ahead and place the order with the 4500K option this time.

I've been mucking about a bit the last few days trying to make something that's been on my mind for a long time now reality, the idea was to make something that'd solve part of the issues in regards to carrying an HDS flashlight without using a pocket or a pocket clip (which we all know are... lacking). I've been attempting to make something that'll work as a carrier/holster at the same time as it makes it possible to still use the flashlight, it's a bit loose on an HDS and i'll get around to fixing that, but it's fairly snug on a Surefire as can be seen in the picture. It takes some force to put the HDS into the holster and some to take it out, but once in place it isn't yet so snug that the rotary can be easily used on a CR123 body. I'm working on some complete redesigns for the HDS to begin with but i'm very happy with the way the carry ring works so far, the whole thing is plenty strong from my tests so far but i'll keep working on it.

Some progress, i think this version will do for now. The flashlight is snug in there and the rotary function works well. I'll make 5 of these for people to try out, if you're interested just shoot me a DM, i'll pretty much just want you to cover shipping for it from Sweden to your place.

In rotary , I’m drawn to the raised switch for its ease of operation and relatively high resistance to wear. However, do you think features like tail-standing capability, a low-profile design, and resistance to accidental activation in the pocket offer an irreplaceable advantage for pocket carry?

Raised is nice, I prefer raised on clickies and flat on rotaries. Raised on clicky works best because of available pocket clips that work much better on the clickies vs rotaries. I use tail standing a lot and like the flat switch for pocket carry. I like raised on clickies because you can switch them out with a flat if you have an extra tailcap at anytime. You really can't go wrong with either. Flat switch no clip rotary is my favorite

Might also want to keep in mind the difference in sound, the flush clickies might be louder, because the raised clickies have a solid chunk of rubber between the contact point and the thumb which mutes it. The flush clicky has substantially less material to damper the sound, and MIGHT shift around with heavy presses.

In reagrds to your questions. IMO, it's pretty much comes down to what's important, or how you plan on using the light.

For example re. how I carrry, and use my Rotary's. I belt carry my Rotary's in a Kydex Holster. I have both the raised, and flush button configurations. While working (or when I worked), I carried the reaised button. My preference for the raised button, is for the ease of turning the light on using the side/flat part of my thumb.

I carry the flush button when I EDC the light, of which, I have to use the tip/end part of my thumb to turn the light on. Since I carry the flush button most often, I have a back up "Rotary control 123 battery compartment with flush button" on hand.

Aside from user er, err, ... error. ... :) My Rotary's hasn't accidentally turned on. However, if you're concerned about the light turning on in your pocket (which would concern me as well if I caried a light in this manner).

There are two ways you could lock out the button. Check out the following link to "EDC Rotary Flashlihgt Advanced User Guide". See no. 6 "Disabling the Switch" in the guide.
