some modding info to reduce output on E3A:

"Output current set by current sense resistor, 0603 SMD size (0805 can be fitted to by my experience). Default value is 0.43 Ohm, corresponds to ~220 mA LED current, according to datasheet formula.
Replacing default current sense R with 10 Ohm reduced LED current to ~9.5 mA, and LED output to ~5 lumens for ~34 hours!"

I have never heard of “Aliex” before. Is that a site I can trust?

Thanks, Jon! troutpool helped me figure it out. I already have an old (dormant) account on there, so I'm not eligible for a new-account special.
Also, it is just possible that I have enough lights??? Nah....

that is not a valid runtime test.. right below the chart it says:
"I didn’t test this runtime with a brand new NiMH cell – probably as a result, we’re only seeing around 12 minutes at 75 lumens. With a fresh cell, I imagine you’d get the claimed 75 minutes."

Rovyvon A5.. lowest mode 0.2 lumens, plus 3 other modes (20, 145, 400lm).. includes USB-C charging and High CRI 219c 5000K

I don’t love the new/different body style of the i3e but that’s just me. i1r 2 been on the keyring last two days. Love the size. Easy to turn with captive head so no worries of it spinning off. Low is perfect for key holes and close up stuff and high is…well really bright….but eats battery quick. I’m going to let him hang on the keys for a bit here.
Edit to add that I do like the twist on and then keep twisting for high rather than off and back on to change modes. This ui makes more sense to me. I think 3-5 low and 20 or so on high would be more my speed and provide decent light for a decent amount of time.

Wow. That Rovy is one ugly light as far as I'm concerned.

I used the i1r2 for awhile, until 8 discovered the Skilhunt EK1. Same sized internal battery, smaller in the keychain, same 2 stage and same USBC charging, however, with high CRI.

Now, I have a bunch of these oLights collecting dust.
 
Well, Photon X-Micro LED light that I ordered a few days ago, came in.
Went right onto my elderly mother's keychain. Former keychain light she had on there was some No-Name, Made in China, junk. Personally have found the X to be far from ultra reliable. But clearly better than what she had on there before. Plus, the X's click-on/click-off large button will be ideal for her fingers to use. Got one with the Orange shell so that if she drops her keys, she'll easily find them.

How do I put this.... If the Photon Freedom is a Toyota Corolla in terms of reliability, the X is a Subaru Impreza 5-Door hatchback. Not nearly as reliable as the Corolla. But has some reliability built in. A decent enough amount that occasional use by an elderly person will be more than good enough. And, comes with AWD standard. The X comes with a big, easy to see central button that is no problem to click on.

On the one hand, cool concept: I like the combo of easy USBC rechargeabilty with easy use of regular AAAs if that's what you can scrounge. But the package looks bulky, and in particular it looks bulkier than a decent AAA light and a decent small rechargeable (such as the A5 shown above). Having both lights unitized might be better for keeping them together, but it makes a bulkier object as a whole.
Also: not cheap!
Anybody have experience with them?
